Is the loot RNG change in system possible?

Savage dropped a month ago (rough guess).
Since first week I been clearing. 1~2 and third week I cleared layer 3.......

I go with my tank friend, yay, but, the RNG is extremely horrible towards me.
This is not just Savage loot, but I have been truly wondering if luck of RNG is bound to characters. For instance, I had to spend last week 2,6 mil MGP on imperial and silver packs from Goldsaucer JUST to get one card of each (Yes, I spent THAT much MGP which was SUPPOSED to be for the mount, thanks Yoshida. I shall hold this against you playfully forever.)

On a bitter note; my friend noticed how RNG has been extremely cruel towards me.
Especially during savage. Last Eden savage, I never, ever, ever got a SINGLE weapon box. I farmed 33x in total once the limitation was dropped and during my weeklies, I cleared it a month later since release, yet, despite, I never, never, ever won a drop. Unless it was GIVEN. (weapon box, never got it cause nobody obviously offers up.)


Now to today's story: Again, zero drops. No drop, no loot. Lot is always below nr. 22. Savage? Oh, no no. not for me no...


I cannot tell you how ANGRY I am. This sounds petty, but if you're in my shoes, and those who are, can understand. I cannot help then be mad towards my tank friend who every run gets every week EVERYTHING, whether it is during free rolls or taking from the left, he gets SOMETHING from the drops. Me? Nothing, absolutely nothing and it is very hard not to cause friction out of my frustration that has been ongoing for the past 2 years. On my alt? Oh, no worry, I get everything in due time, right? Many can relate to this right? I want to stop being able to relate to people and I want to legit find a way to fix this ridiculousness that is the unfairness to people who have no choice but to go through party finder (Yes, I have no choice I cannot have a static, so please no static discussions).


Instead of just complaining, I also wanted to come up with help in a solution, so here it goes, but.... being.... somebody who has 0 knowledge of how game design works; is it possible in the system to add a higher rate chance for lower ILVL players for gear drop? Now I am not saying "impossible to compete with" but when somebody fully geared goes into Savage and grabs all the loot and those stuck with low ilvl who cannot even join PF because their ilvl is too low, this is just beyond cruel, so Savage truly needs help in this regard, it's just...really getting to me. And I take my anger out on my friend, who, is a tank, so, don't worry, he is used to getting beaten up. Even by me >
(I am NOT angry HE gets loot, I am angry I personally get NOTHING while I work as hard) and as a DPS, let's not talk about the DPS check that makes it MUCH harder when people desire high ilvl when you're stuck by weekly one-piece exchange or wait for 6 weeks on a damn book.

So, is this even possible? Yes, this was also me venting.

Maybe it's just confirmation bias, but I swear there's some kind of loot buff for people who die a lot.

I do think luck is bound to character. My irl spouse usually wins minions first time they drop. I get mine from my spouse, 2nd time they drop and they win them yet again. Same for gold saucer scratch tickets. Every day a 10k one for my spouse, and mine don’t even allow me the opportunity. Generally wins most loot rolls in dungeons while I struggle to roll above 40s. I’ll roll high on things I can need on, where there’s no contest though. The amount of X material that falls into their inventory while I only get IXs.

I’ve always believed since my spouse started playing and I was able to get a side by side comparison that there is a hidden luck stat.

My RNG is so bad that when I intentionally tried to play worse than usual and die more than 3 times I still got no loot but the sucker next to me who died once less than me got it.....

THIS.....100% see, we both have now stronger argument, that it may indeed, be character bound.......
Speaking of which, I have 32x totems of the first new EX and 30x of the second (hiding names due to spoilers),
I have never ever seen the flute...........and to be frank, I hope I never will until I get 99x totems, then never see it in my lifetime.

Oh I’d like to add, with the new containers you can buy for seals at your grand company; I’ve been buying them since they’ve been available. While I do not usually play on work days I have still opened no less than 30 of them. All minions. A lot of them repeats. My spouse finally decided to get around to getting their rank high enough to buy them. Gets 6. 2 mounts… “I’ve been saving them up” they said. Well so have I. 2 mounts in 6 boxes vs 0 in 30.

How can I reroll my character without losing everything so I can get something once in a while

Also let's not mention bozjan lootboxes, 200 boxes open, 190 prisms and no hair I immediately quit.

I feel like the current pity system for savage drops is...bad.

Worst case scenario you can be waiting nearly two months to get a leg/chest/weapon which seems a touch excessive and it's not even that unrealistic if you're not running with a static.

Even though your odds of actually getting loot were technically lower, I felt a lot less sour about the pre-ShB system because I at least knew I was guaranteed to get my gear when it decided to drop.

If anything, I think they need to just normalize the number of books required for each item to four instead of "weighting" them based on how much benefit that particular slot provides because the associated fights are more difficult then prior ones anyways.

In any decent static Healers are generally bottom priority for loot. I've gone up to now with 0 raid drops, then our static went through a few changes and I left due to time schedule. If I join or start another, there's a good chance of starting over with another month of no loot. I'm grumbling, but at the same time it's reasonable that groups do it that way. Healer life.

I wouldn't mind the pity system being a little more generous. I'm really not going to quit and unsub if I gear slightly faster, I'll just gear alt classes and keep raiding because it's fun.

This is not a static based request but pug, statics have their own rules, this doesn't count for those who pug. We are the unlucky ones

While it's understandable, I will note I had a little bit of salt when the Eden's Promise tier had slightly higher healing requirements on the later fights and I saw DPS/tanks complaining in threads about "The healers need to gear up better so that these healing spots don't kill people if they've taken unplanned damage." when, y'know, in statics that had rules about "healers don't get gear until tanks have theirs, and tanks don't get gear until all the DPS have theirs."

Like... I'm sorry, how do you want your healers to gear up better than HQ overmelded stuff? Go raid outside the static and screw you out of boxes?
