One controller hotbar is 16 buttons, and you can very easily make that 32 with either the WXHB system, or the expanded hotbars. (you could even use both for 48 buttons, but that could be a bit overkill for combat)

The odd macro here or there you can get away with, but if you're macroing three-quarters of your kit (everything after the first 8 buttons) then you're going to be significantly hindering your gameplay.
I'm not even talking about optimisation for high end content, that's about timing, and avoiding clipping, etc. If you're flat out not using skills, then you're hardly playing at all, and everyone else in your party will feel it.
And to be frank, are you having any fun when you're just spamming the same skill over and over?

Dancer is by far the most pointless job to macro, nearly all of its damaging skills fit onto the 16 face buttons, and you can throw all of your utility onto the WXHB/expanded.

If you absolutely HAVE to macro multiple skills, and you're not concerned about GCD clipping because you don't do high end content, be clever about it.
Macro a GCD to an oGCD, with the GCD triggering first. This will allow you to use that button for two skills depending on if the GCD is on cooldown. Or a procced skill to an always-available skill. For example, Bloodspiller and Edge of Shadow. When you can use Bloodspiller that will go first, when you can't (GCD is on cooldown or you have no Blood gauge) then you can use Edge of Shadow. Likewise for Quietus/Flood of Shadow.

Absolutely do not throw all of your mitigation skills onto one button. You will die. But, you could potentially set them up in pairs, because chances are you will be using a couple at a time during dungeon pulls/tank busters. Arms Length and Rampart could potentially pair well, as well as The Blackest Night and Oblation for tank busters. However there's a big issue here, in that in order to get this macro to work properly, you will need to add in a 1 second wait between actions. Given that you use so many macros, every time you use another macro after this one, you'll interrupt that 1 second wait period and halt the macro. This is why it's such a big problem to macro so many things.
