They are trying to teach you and show you all the things you take for granted... That is good story telling. The only people upset about this part of the story are those who want everything handed to them without having to work for anything. It's a challenging instance but by no means impossible to overcome.

I was rather a fan of this part. Put you out of your comfort zone, reduced you back to being the nothing nobody you were when you first started out. Reminded you where you came from. Asked you to prove you're the same person. I'm not good at (and hate) stealth games, so it was a very tense piece for me. It was frustrating, tedious, and forced me to approach things in a different way, while I constantly just waited for it to be over.

Which was precisely the point. Which some people seem to have missed.

The Idea behind the story of "in from the cold" is great, but sadly been bad designed and over tuned beside difficulty even in the easy mode. Thankfully been changed after many complain.

I was annoyed by this quest but only because I really don't care to play other characters. I want to play only MY character. Still, it was fairly easy enough to finish. So, ultimately, in the end, it was really only a minor annoyance.

Stupidly BASED, maybe. I really liked having to forage and experience having a normal, more mortal body after the many, many hours of being divinity slayers. Tough but satisfying! Managed to do it in one go myself. One of the coolest moments in the story and a complete violation of the player character without getting icky. Things could've gone so much worse and the writers are crazy enough (in the good way) to make you believe that yeah... MAYBE "YOU" HURT A FRIEND OR TWO! Had me on edge thinking about the possible fallout.

But its easy enough if you read and pay attention.
