The purple scrip crafting gear....why??

I dont understand why they needed to have a completely different set of gear per class?? This is by far the worst change to crafting endgame ever implemented yet. So now we get to clog our AC with 10+ different pieces of gear per section if you want to level each one. Its an absolutely ludicrious change just to make things grindier. If they wanted to do that they shouldve just made each piece just cost more. PLEASE REVERT IN 6.1!!!!

I think that is quite normal for x.0 DoH / DoL gear (if memory serves me correct). Once crafted gear is available it can be shared and that will be from 6.1 I guess.

First sets are always like that, later a general set should be available.

I'm assuming you just started playing late in Shadowbringers. The first tier of crafted gear available through script purchase have *always* been on a job specific basis since Heavensward (I believe). The first good crafting gear for A Realm Reborn was craftable.

The purple scrip gear, however, is almost always inferior to melded crafted gear of the same level. Your complaint is not regarding a change, you are complaining about the standard gear progression which has been in place for nearly a decade now. There will be omni-crafter gear available via purple scrips around the last raid patch, if memory serves.

Get yourself a set of crafted 560 gear. I used some of the gathering purple gear temporarily only as needed while my crafters were not yet fully levelled up and when I got my 560 crafting/gathering sets, I simply passed the few gathering scrips gear pieces that I had acquired to my retainers.

Kinda off-topic rant: It's still garbage. I got every set because I loved them all.
I use "AF" gear for almost every job
and I don't have enough glam sets to wear them.
Really really really need to add more sets
or overhaul the system so bad.

All good! In case you're worried about it, it's mostly for glamour purposes, or to give people who don't do materia a slightly better set to use than the unmelded crafted set. Obviously craft+meld is better.

I'd recommend just saving your scrip until the new set comes, or if you cap grab things that are more universal (like the master crafting books).

Worst case, by all means grab a set of the gear to give you a leg up to grind out the universal set.

it's not really about gear progression, it's about "uniqueness". Each class get a set that looks job-approriate once per expansion.

You can still use crafted sets if you want. They are actually decently easy to craft by ourselves atm actually. Crafted my own set for myself and the process was fun because as I was crafting each piece and equipping them, each part gets easier and easier to craft until the last piece you will craft will be almost sure HQ haha.

I love some of the purple scrip gear set for glam purposes though like armorer and blacksmith. Do not know why carpentry always looks odd

Only complaint is that the gear is needlessly restricted when it comes to glamour...

So many attires just straight up wasted for like one patch.
