Not going to happen with normal raids, they are basicly story mode. If we see a WAR pull that solo off in a current extreme or savage then I'll call it OP.
You know it is worse in wow, literally having paladin soloing heroic boss.That is a rule that usually applies to PvP content balancing, in order to keep fair competition going.
Under normal circumstances, any Boss in a MMORPG, especially the ones inside a instance, is technically unkillable by ANY MEANS in a solo Scenario, otherwise it isnt a Boss anymore, but just a slightly stronger hitting Monster that happens to have a few more mechanics and lots of HP.
In case People have forgotten, FFXIV is in the 4th Expansion already, it is about time we stop getting the Beginner treatment all the time and slowly start to be tested seriously about what we have learned in our long journey.
Solo content is only possible in the lower difficulty content, you can't solo savage or ultimate and that's all what matter, idc of casual normal content being solo'ed, THIS-IS-NOT-THE-TRUE-ENDGAME-CONTENT.
i'm not sure if you any idea about what you're saying.I have been saying this for months. I saw it all the way back in Shadowbringers launch and it is even MORE prevalent today.
DPS and enrage being the main focus to encounter design needs to be adjusted.
1. Tanks need to TAKE MORE damage, auto attacks need to FREAKING hurt!
2. Healers need to sweat trying to keep the party alive and barely any time to DPS. Maybe throw DOT out once it a while.
3. DPS need to encounter MORE DPS specific mechanics while trying to keep uptime.
Enrage should have a soft enrage and full enrage.
Once the savage boss goes through it's full repertoire of attacks....it starts over....but with a soft enrage. 20% more damage output for 3 min or so until FULL enrage.
Tanks will most likely re meld into full tenacity
Healers will meld into piety
DPS...well nothing changes...
DPS race is no longer the focus of the game.
I don't know how many times I take a shared tank buster from p2s....and literally solo it like it's nothing. Taking tethers to the face...and just laugh at them.
I should feel scared to take a buster to the face. Instead I....yawn...
first unless you have unlimited holmgang, you can only take 2 shared buster alone on p2s and you have to share the 3rd one since it is impossible to survive alone even with all your cooldown.
2nd, you literally have no clue about healing in savage because unless you're clearing everything week 40 or with echo, healers have to make a proper healing rotation especially for some fight (hello p4s).

At this point they may as well remove the healer role. Rework the healers to be DPS and have it so everyone is responsible for their own HP. If they're gonna refuse to make fights do threatening damage AND refuse to give healers downtime gameplay beyond spamming one button, why exactly does the role exist? Just to carry players who make mistakes? Why would anyone want to play a role whose main gameplay has been gradually scrubbed out of the game by continuous dumbing down of the content, and outside of that is just a bad, boring DPS?
People saying it doesn't matter because it's normal mode. So we have 4 jobs that only exist for 4-6 fights in the game and outside of that are just dead weight?

Well according to a DPS chart posted in another thread - which I don't trust much given how soon after the patch it comes, but let's give it the benefit of the doubt for a moment - SMN is currently the second worst DPS. Considering last expac it was the flat out best for a bit, and then the second best for a bit, I'd say it'd been nerfed a ton. Even if it ends up a bit better than that questionable chart suggests, it'll still be down there with classes that don't have any melee nor cast times.
But, trolling tone aside. The phoenix heal is essentially just flavor. You don't see people using it to run current content without healers. No one's using it to solo or duo current content bosses.
