Higher height ceiling for flying in ARR?

Some ARR areas have pretty low height ceiling, make you have to fly in a roundabout way, such as Little Ala Mhigo or Coerthas Central Highland, or Mor Dhona. This doesn't happen in HW areas onward.

I think it would be nice if the ceiling can be a little higher so that flying mounts can do a beeline in ARR zones.

The ceiling is low to prevent us from seeing too far. We'd see things we aren't meant to, like the void at the outside of the map since they never put any assets there. The maps were not designed with flight in mind.

As someone said, it’s not designed for flying. They won’t want to completely recreate the ARR areas. Why? Because game design is using what players can’t see to take shortcuts to make designing faster and easier. You can actually see this in the Northern Shroud. Go there and head to the ixali camp in the north (I forgot what it’s called) and you’ll go back there and see floating trees if you hover around the water and look out of bounds. On top of that there’s likely in places like Outer LaNocea where you’d find probably places without hit detection and because the tunnels there are so intricate accidentally finding one-way walls that exploit things making quests far easier than they should be, OR out-of-bounds areas that would need fixing. Rather than doing all that, keeping the ceiling low makes it so players can have flight in areas it isn’t designed for AND keeps the cost of developing it low.

A short way of thinking of it: Instead of making a walk-in art exhibit formerly just a window into hanging objects or something a full room, just make it a hall.

Flight in ARR zones is recent. It was only added a little over a year ago. Unlike the expansion zones where were designed with flight in mind, the ARR zones had to be retrofitted and the low ceiling is there to keep us from seeing scenery that was never modeled, and the like.

If the flight ceiling error message is bothering you, it can be turned off in the game's settings.

Navigating South Shroud can be very nauseating if you go too much into the trees and would like to able to go a bit higher. Ala Mhigo boy oh boy does that place give me a headache. I know it is a small gripe, but It feels so vindictive that all you have is a small hole or the main entrance or the out of the way side entrances to go out of. There are also some places I wish I could see or go to that are blocked off. I know it isn't a big deal but if it was not too much trouble for the dev team I would be very happy to explore more things and be able to go over the trees in south shroud. Just a small ask, and if it is too much I am happy with the way things are but gosh Ala Mhigo.....oh gosh Ala Mhigo the amount of times attempting to get out of there was frustrating. Sure it doesn't matter much once you get to some point in the story really but when I was a fresh sprout it made me upset. Of course you can't just fly over into or out of it uuugh stoopid rock formation!
