Game crashed right after pressing "play" on the launcher

sometimes i get an error message. Sometimes I dont.

the second time i logged into the game, after the "all saints wake" event started. the game opens to a black screen then closes immediately. sometimes i get an error message about corrupted or missing files. sometimes I dont.

i tried the restore function in the launcher. but it usually doesnt improve anything.

after a fresh install, the opening game movie played. but when i went back to restore my configuration data. pressing play crashes the game every time again, closing itself right after.

i have the game set to windowed mode. moved it to the C:/ drive (the fresh install in the C drive is the one that seemed to work, for a while)

now i am "restoring game data" again. in the hopes it will work this time. what else can I do?

a 4th install worked without changing anything on my part. so this doesnt seem to be a problem for me anymore. i hope.

i dont know what fixed it other than there isnt any m,ore crashes
