Show me on the doll where the bad crafter hurt you.I completely agree, Mitsuki. This is just another example of SE kowtowing to the lowest common denominator. As far as I'm concerned, crafters and gatherers shouldn't even be in the game. These are jobs made for people who are so inept at the combat portion of the game, that they dedicate themselves to the trades in game whilst not being able to change a light bulb in real life. Pentamelds are only locked behind crafters so that these people can have a power trip about how all the raiders (the ones actually playing the game) need them to acquire in game strength. I refuse to prostrate myself beneath the crafters' boots, and thus haven't been able to make it past P4S enrage for 3 weeks. If I want to be able to kill bosses in this game I only have 2 choices: waste months of my life leveling crafters, or submit myself to the humiliation of begging for charity melds in Limsa from the very people oppressing me.

How many sock puppets are there in this thread? See if you can count them.

Bad example. You don't play the violin to improve the performance of your car, do you? However you pentameld your gear to improve its performance so, following with your example of the car, if you want to improve its performance you need to buy the required parts (materia) and pay someone (the crafter) to do it or learn to craft the parts, gather the required materials to craft them and implement the performance improvement yourself (sidequests). Makes a lot of sense to me.

Step 1, buy crafted gear from the market board.
Step 2, buy materia from the market board.
Step 3, ask your crafter friend to pentameld it all.
Or spend a few hours spamming leves to level a crafter to 90 and a few hours fighting hunts to get materia. Both ways work.
If that's too hard then maybe just don't pentameld. You probably don't need it if your static is really that good.
Pentamelding isn't essential.
Remove it and crafters become utterly useless.

This is one of the funniest bait threads I've ever seen, and people falling for it makes it even funnier
just look at the amount of posters with literally one post and jan 2022/dec2021 join date, come on guys

If you enjoy combat so much, why don't you transfer that passion into a combat sport? I think this is a very reasonable proposal. If crafters enjoy the content so much, why don't they transfer that passion into real-life hobbies and trades? I asked my crafter friend if they would like to make my food, clothing and medicine irl as well and they shouted profanities and told me I was being snide. I thought I made a very reasonable proposal.

I refuse to believe this was anything but sarcasm. Thanks for making me laugh!I completely agree, Mitsuki. This is just another example of SE kowtowing to the lowest common denominator. TruthSo new food comes out and you want to eat it. Right? Wrong. The ability to eat is locked behind unnecessary stores and gatekept by the financial markets. Seriously. Has anyone ever questioned why you need stores and restaurants so you can eat? It's just a money sink that punishes people who want to eat instead of blowing away their money on garbage. Imagine you have your driver's license and you want to drive a car, but before you could even step into a car you had to learn how to play the violin. The world is a place where only violinists can drive cars, and the actual racers are left taking the bus. And when you dare to point that out, all the violinists say "well it's not fair! Go learn to play some Vivaldi!!!". So you go "ah well, might as well look at a youtube tutorial on how to play this thing" and you realize that the violin is more expensive than your rent. It's prohibitively expensive to even get things delivered. Seriously, it makes no sense to brickwall the people who want to actually eat instead of jumping through pointless hoops. Solutions are to:
1) Divorce food delivery from stores and restaurants, and give it to people who are hungry
2) Make food drop from the sky. When you go home from work, then you're 100% guaranteed to have food in front the door.
