POTD or HOH aren't completely solo but also don't require a lot of coordination and you can gain tomes pretty quick. I tend to see POTD populated more on my DC than HOH.

Don't forget S rank marks. SS rank marks are even better since they can give up to 200 poetics per kill.I prioritize yield/time and repeatability, usually to the detriment of ease/afk-ness. I also actively farm poetics because I'm an anima weapon nut. That said: hunt trains. Of any level. IIRC at full contribution each mark will give you 20 poetics? A ShB train has 12 marks, an EW train (because of instances) has 36. EW trains right now take about an hour, and you can do as many as you can physically join. But it is sometimes stressful with congestion issues.
Edit: Yeah I re-read your post and you specifically mention wanting something solo. Don't think there's any, really. Maybe Eureka, but Eureka still requires partying and fate hopping and has a much lower yield than trains.
The other daily roulettes are worth doing daily, and probably the next best option for your time, if you don't get something like Orbonne Monastery, or one of the newer trials.
And you can get a bit over 1000 weekly from both Khloe and the BLU Carnivale, without much effort.
For stuff that's not easily repeatable, you can try to find first time bonuses. A HUGE chunk if you find someone to do the Coils of Bahamut with. A decent amount for the older MSQ trials.
For something infinitely grindable - I'd go with the Aetherochemical Research Facility or Pagal'than.
Hunt Trains and Eureka, or Eureka 2: Bozjan Boogaloo ... are not worth my sanity, but some people can tolerate them, apparently.
This is good advice and likely plays into why I value MSQ roulette so highly: I use it to level alt jobs. This is why of all the methods I’ve seen posted so far I think I’ll try Bozja first since I have all jobs to 71 or higher.IMO the best source of poeetics is from the things you want more than just poetics from, say a dungeon that contains a minion you want. If you're of the mind to grind it out, maybe level a class while you do it, so long as its a level cap dungeon the poetics will come naturally as you run for levels/minions/glamour. Same to 24 man raids and so on, I find it helps immensely to have a side motive aside from just grinding for poetics.
Probably a tank or healer would be ideal for bozja… I hate the absence of a chocobo!
ARF(150) or Keeper of the Lake(100). They are both pretty fast/easy. The downside is they get boring real fast after like 5 runs haha.
Several level 50 dungeons give 100 tomes. You can quickly run them unsynched with a high level job (5-10 mins max each) . That’s what I do when I need some extra tomes. Then I turn in all the gear to the GC for seals.
Netflix and Zadnor.
Wait, didn't someone say earlier in this very thread that-
?
I know first time clears are an exception, but what's the truth here for repeated runs?
Yeah, you are right. It’s first time clears. I just realize that I have been doing a bunch on an alt that is over levelled to gear up some jobs.
zadnor zone 3 trainsIt has to feel inevitable by now, or at least it does to me, that the FFXIV devs will “fix” (kill) the MSQ roulette and/or the need for it, utterly ending the daily fountain of “free” tomestones and/or XP.
I imagine that the reasons are well documented, so I’m not interested in listing them again. What I do want to ask is what are the best sources of specifically poetic tomestones in a world without “Netflix and Prae.”
Keep in mind that when I say “best,” I’m talking about a multi-factor consideration of effort, “non-interdependence,” and repeatable yield. Time is also a lower priority consideration: I mean MSQ roulette can take over an hour a day from queue to completion, but its yield and literal inevitability more than make up for that time investment and mild interdependence in my opinion.
Before you claim something is “easy,” keep in mind here that the standard here is the current MSQ roulette, a daily “nigh-impossible-to-fail” instance that is essentially a “solo in parallel” experience, and so in that vein I’m specifically looking for sources that don’t require involved co-ordination with other players. Furthermore, none of the other roulettes provide any assurance of the cakewalk (both logistical and “social”) that is MSQ roulette, so they’re disqualified, IMO.
For example: Paglth’an lists in the wiki a reward of 100 poetics. I’m going to assume that’s repeating and works with trusts. If true, that looks pretty good at a glance honestly, (assuming one gets in the practice, on their own time, to trivialize the dungeon) but I’m sure you can do better. I’m likely overlooking a lot, I haven’t played every system in the game, so what is better than that?
I’m interested in your input, because a lot of how I play the game kind of revolves around that 300-500 “free poetics” per day from the MSQ roulette, and I’d like to plan for a world after they break it, where poetics feel… rarer than the current reality.
