All this updating is unnecessary, we're not changing gear, only adding stats. Why can't it just accept the new values when you load the job and not bother us with this update everythiing tedium..

I dont think you need to update it. Will not updating it change anything? If you leave it with the "!" nothing will happen. You will still equip the gear set with the materia that it has currently. It will just send you a msg that it could not apply the exact gear that was stored at the moment of the saving of the original set.

I usually just ignore it until I have new gear in any slot.

Nothing bad ever happened to me. Since I switch with buttons I don't have to see the "!".
