The mods have a lot of clipping issues though that largely get accepted because its customization that isn't provided in-game. If SE did the same people would just complain.
So its not really comparable.

The game already has a hilarious amount of clipping. My hair clips through my gear, my weapon clips through my gear, my gear clips through my gear. They've started chopping off Miqo and Au Ra body parts instead of just letting them clip, and as much as I get that the last couple years have been rough for basically everything, there's no world where that doesn't start to feel kinda lazy after a while. It seems like it's just the easiest and probably cheapest solution to a problem they apparently have no plans of solving, and it sucks that the answer is apparently "delete things that clip entirely" and not, y'know, just letting people choose how much clipping they can deal with. Assuming actually fixing the clipping isn't on the table of course, which it seems like it probably isn't.
