As an ex-WoW player, you would have to be a complete lunatic to return now. I can understand checking it out again in 2 expacs to see if it's rebuilt itself but now? Not a chance.

There's nothing wrong with enjoying both. The major difference between WoW and FFXIV is WoW is significantly more time consuming if you want to do end-game. There's grinds upon grinds for gear/legendaries, with the best stuff being weekly capped.

Meanwhile in FF you run dungeons, get 570, collectively farm 590 gear with a capped token, do raids for 580, experience savage/extreme if you so please; rinse and repeat. There's no legendary grind, there's no forced PotD grind, there's no borrowed systems, etc etc.

WoW isn't outright bad, it's just bloated with "keep players playing" mechanics. Even then, they're things that make it better than FFXIV, just as they're are things that make FFXIV better than WoW.

A good chunk of the congestion was also from RMT bots. With ban waves going out and new account sales still locked, they can't immediately pop back in. We'll see how that goes when sales are unlocked again.

It's always so peaceful in town without those scrambledname hyurs constantly advertising.

EW phase is over, most people has finish the story. for others who has no intention to do savage or crafting especially players who only play for the story, they probably move on to other games.

I noticed significantly less Savage parties last night as well. Even Monday night I saw over 100 parties recruiting in the high end trial tab on Primal. Last night the most I saw was 80 at 6 pm pst. Not sure what happened. It was very strange for a Tuesday. Extremely sudden dropoff

Maybe a lot of people also just wanted to try out savage for the first time and noticed they're not having fun with it.

Well I was part of the PF casual raid mercenary but part of a static now for p3s+ cause honestly going through those first 2 fights with randos every single week seemed absurd.
PF P4S at this time seemed just impossible (maybe in 2-4 weeks).

I would have stopped doing them once I had the gear I needed from those tiers at any rate and I'm sure many got the gear they wanted or slowly got equip from the tome vendor.

Its true though the gearing routine is getting a little boring now. But the drop is just a normal occurrence, once folks get their savage clears and Bis (a lot of raiders just hav3 a single main for statics) a significant portion of those players move on to other games until next patch especially for the the initial launch as there really isnt any other new content yet like relic, 24m, ults, or dds.

Yeah, my sub expires in a day or so... once I finish the MSQ, I quit until the end of the expansion to get all the goodies and be ready for the next expansion.... usually a week or so before new expansion drops.

Content is pretty fast to get through and I see no point grinding time gates/tomes. You get it all superfast at the end of the expac. Theme park games just work differently than sandbox games for me.
