Thanks. The more official bug reports they have on file, the higher it will move up on their priority list. Hopefully, your brother and the rest of us with the 7xxx cards will be able to join you guys soon.![]()
Looks like 12.1 was in fact a no go. Nothing to change in BIOS either. We ended up playing for a little while as the glitchyness wasnt so bad today... we can't seem to figure out any rhyme or reason for the NPC disappearances...
12.1 gave him some errors and was clearly not working, but (maybe just a coincidence) he never had everything disappear and stay gone this time. He HAD 12.3, downgraded to 12.1 and reupgraded to 12.2 and it said it was 12.3 and now the disappearing stuff seems to be a little less hit or miss.
Hope that can help ya play, if even for a little while.
Ah well. Thank you for posting the results of your experiment! I guess now we just have to wait for either Square Enix or AMD to step up to the plate and sort things out.![]()
My brother downloaded AMD's new 12.6 BETA drivers and "SO FAR" (keeping fingers crossed) they seem to be doing the trick.

I tried downloading that driver, but when I went to open it it said "Installer integrity check failed." and wouldn't let me install it. I tried downloading again, just in case it downloaded wrong, but I got the same error message the second time.![]()
Sorry ganfalfxviv his is still working fine. I haven't upgraded myself but I'm fine on the 12.3 drivers as my card is just the 5770.
Found a couple articles with similar problems on Google

I tried installing the 12.6 Beta drivers, but it caused some crazy scaling problems with my resolution and monitor. It's good to hear that your brother's game is still working fine with them though. That gives me hope that once the final version of the 12.6 drivers are released, I'll be able to join you guys in Eorzea. Thanks for the update, Xoa!

Good news. I tried once more to download and install the 12.6 beta driver and it worked. I've played for a couple hours now with the new driver and so far no one has disappeared. There's the expected loading time when I'm waiting for NPCs to appear, but they do show up and they stay.
I am having the same problem.
Regardless of updated drivers fixing this issue, SE should include an option (as in FF11) as to how many models are displayed at one time (a min/max bar of some sort).
I'm assuming this will be included in 2.0, but if it isn't already planned, please consider doing so!
Update: I have installed the most recent Catalyst drivers (beta) and am experiencing a significant improvement in character model display and continuity, as well as an overall increase in game performance (model loading time, along with cleanliness of action graphics and overall smoother gameplay).
