If you want to be real, it would likely be best to not trivialize anxiety, or any other natural human response to stimuli just because it is a video game. People should be encouraged to face their anxiety in the face instead of running away from it as most do. That is how you conquer it.
Face it on their own time not with randos and expect randos to put up with it. Having anxiety over a video game is the perfect example of trivial, and if I suffered from social anxiety I sure as hell would not want it to be lumped in with likes of tankxiety. We really need to put this handholding cuddle me Elmo mindset out like a limp racing horse. Cause it is not worth the effort to try and justify why someone should have their anxiety over a video game validated by the rest of the community.

Anxiety over things like a video games has always had a solution, it is as simple as getting better at the game or whatever task you are trying to perform that brings you anxiety. Once you get better and more comfortable your anxiety will melt away. Cause at the care anxiety in video games based around a fear of failure in some form or another, only way to overcome that is to get better end of story. Just do not expect everyone to be as understanding on your journey to get better.

Wish we had a timemachine to send all the players with anxiety back into ARR/HW and let them experience the good old days of aggro management, cleric stance and TP problems. Also no sprint as a melee cause all your TP would be gone!

Tanking nowdays is a joke compared to back then, back then when you saw a blackmage in your group you knew you will spend half of the dungeon trying desperately to get your precious aggro back.

Oh yeah and you did no damage at all when you were using your tankstance! So offtanks had always to turn their tankstance off! Or well paladin had even two stances for both tanking and dps.

So grow up, the stuff mobs hit you with today are wet pool noodles compared to the sledgehammers you had to endure in ARR! Not to mention that you only have to cough into their direction and you have their attention until the end of time(ers).

That is so 2019. We all know parties are not a thing anymore.

The trouble is that it does exist, but there's no way to confirm that someone's actually having a medical level problem with it via in game text. It's something that the majority of the people claiming that they experience it are lying about. Why? Because they think it'll shield them or get them pity points.

Anxiety, depression, and many other mental disorders are disabilities that people wave around proudly these days, even if they aren't actually diagnosed(proven) to have them.

Which wouldn't be an issue, EXCEPT, far too many people use these undiagnosed disabilities, that they are proud of, as an excuse for shitty behavior. Or as a tool to manipulate others to condone/accept/approve of shitty behavior. Or in this case, crappy play. If you learn your job, then your nervousness about it will dissipate.

Of course, then we run into the even softer folk who complain that they have to learn how to play. Demanding that the rest of the world change to suit them. That's really not how the world works. Nor should it be.

If you want stability of mind, then it has to come from within. Far easier to change the self than it is to attempt to manipulate millions of other people to treat towards your personal whims. Cause if you can't even change yourself, then what chance have you really got at changing other people?

I know players who clear Ultimates who have Tanxiety. Tanking is easy, but tanxiety is real. It is not necessarily a rational phenomenon, and it is almost never rooted solely in gameplay confidence. There are other layers to what causes rather good players, or average players, or even new and less skilled players to all feel this same feeling.

I have tried to get all sorts of people to work through their tanxiety, and each case is different.

Also, you're unkind and generally all of your posts are unkind and somewhat hateful.

Tankxiety is easy to cure. Just don't tank. I'll wait in the queue a little longer for a tank that isn't scared of tanking, thanks.

Picture this, you're going into a new dungeon/raid/fight determined to do well even though you aren't that competent a player yet and along the way you make a mistake that leads to a party wipe.

You did your best but came up short, and now suddenly you're being harassed for being a bad tank/healer even though it's a class you love. They call you various obscenities, tell you to quit playing - or in one personal experience, one even went so far to tell me I should commit suicide.

Didn't really feel like ever playing again at all, did you?

It sucks that this happened to you, but getting yelled at over a mistake in a video game is not equivalent in impact, context, or scope to the verbal abuse game developers take from customers.

No, based on your bad duty experience, you don't know how it feels. Especially if you aren't working 100 hours a week and taking actual damage to your physical health to keep a project on schedule, only to have a bunch of know nothings tell you that you failed at your job.

I honestly think I've only run into this kind of toxicity once since I started playing last summer, but when I played WoW it was every dungeon and raid. You could be doing your job perfectly and people would still flip out on you. There were a lot of reasons I quit that game, but that was one of the biggest.
