Ok, ok, shit on me all you like all of you with tons of wolf marks, but do you really think it's ok to make a pvp set a crafted item? Let people have something to work towards! Not everyone starts with 20k wolf marks, you know!

I think it's perfectly fine. That said, I wish they would have chosen something better to use (in my opinion) that wasn't that particular set. Roman/greek themed sets are neat and all, but they don't exactly fit Gunbreaker. lol If you really want something to work toward, then the upcoming PvP changes will probably be more your thing. Wolf Mark sets have never been that special.
I think it's fine – it gives people different paths to acquiring the same glamour... which in any case is not the same glamour, just similar. Colours are different, textures are different, dyes affect different parts of the outfit. People will still want the PVP version if that works better for the look they want to achieve.
And you can equip them at level 1 instead of having to get all the way to 90, which means the PVP versions are still valuable for the majority of the game.
If anything, I'd like them to take the new weapons they've designed for the crafted versions and add them back into PVP as level 1 glamours like the outfits. Preferably a version without the glow that gets added when you go into battle stance, so people have a choice over it.
sure
if you want exclusive gear, do savage raids or ultimates
No I don’t think it’s fine, and people saying it’s better because it gives people the options to acquire the same glamour are not focusing on the bigger picture and the opportunity cost of that statement. For every repeat gear we see in game we just lost the opportunity to witness unique and awesome creations in the name of laziness.
This is like giving a player the same food everyday at a cafeteria with a subscription because the cook doesn’t want to bother with new recipes.
Getting a re-used set is a huge loss for the player base every time it happens.
To a degree, yes. But it's also likely that they don't have the budget to produce a whole set of new designs for every set of gear they need to produce at a gameplay level. No I don’t think it’s fine, and people saying it’s better because it gives people the options to acquire the same glamour are not focusing on the bigger picture and the opportunity cost of that statement. Overall, Endwalker certainly had too many recycled sets, though I suspect COVID and the ever-increasing number of exclusive job sets are cutting into that.
Still, that's irrelevant to the immediate complaint that, given that recycled sets are a thing, reusing this particular PVP set as a non-PVP set is somehow devaluing the original.
Some of y'all would lose your minds if you realized how much from FFXI XIV uses. As recently as a a EW added skill for a particular job. Which personally I don't mind one bit, I just wish the more cool and badass looking spell effects from XI made their way to XIV if anything if only to see them in HD lol.

I think its ok since they updated the texture
the pvp set looks like some cheap costume you get
while lvl 80 crafted set actually look like it has armor on it
generally i hate recolor when they are made worse like Mhach gear to Facet gear
but wolf marks are really not hard to get anyway
I also took some texture comparison pictures of the gear previously:
Comparing the Republican and Classical Medicus set (specifically the chiton, wrist torque and caligae).
The chiton is dyed Snow White and the caligae Metallic Brass in both examples.

In this case it was a glamour I'd already made with the old version of the set and, as much as the updated textures look nice, the dye pattern and white feathers of the original work better for the outfit.
