A rough-and-tumble assassin/corsair could be pretty fun. Especially if it's a more selfish counterpart of a ninja.

As much as I'd like to see that, I think we have enough classes with swords. We got swords, big swords, exploding swords, glorious nippon steel swords, and toothpick swords.
Now if it comes wielding a Hand Axe for main hand to compliment the Hand Cannon then I'm down for it.

As it stands, a physical ranged job will go to the Aiming role simply by virtue of gear stat allocation/ parameter/ property design.
Any new Scouting jobs will be melee by the same token of said gear design.
That being said, The idea of a new Scouting job having some additional or hybrid skills such as Red Mage having both Melee & ranged aspects, would be interesting.
However it can not be forgotten all Melee are tied to the Melee LB at the game engine level & Scouting jobs are part of that system.
For instance, what of about an Inquisitor type of fighter? Something with a Club/ Mace or Single One Handed Sword, & Staff combination intergraded with each other as one. The concept being liken to a crusader/ hunter traveling for corruption or bounties. Something with Holy thematics but... serious, intense, basically a church ordained Witcher with holy/ fire powers & wielding a Sword/ Mace & holy Standard.
(Visuals from Dragon Age Inquisition Inquisitor for example of concept)

I know its low chance but i'd like some sort of hunter job just so i can make an alt named duck hunter.
I hope if it's a pet job it plays like Xrd Jack-O. Weird, and a completely different game from what everyone else is play. Like having to play a moba in your savage fight.
