Ranger FF5/FF11 job, uses Crossbows and special bolts and traps that do a variety of effects.

The next scouting job cannot come soon enough. I have had it up to here with getting endless piles of scouting gear that are practically useless outside of a class I level to max and never touch again till the next expansion.
I'd like to see the next scouting class wield dual axes, like a sort of viking raider. Respectfully, I do not want to see another sword job for a while yet. I don't particularly mind if its just called "Viking" or if they go with a more beastmasterish vibe to it and give it a pet that works like reaper's avatar and call it "Hunter."
I think we need another job or two for the Maiming or Striking token's. isnt scouting (And Aiming) bloated enough as is?
(Only DPS tokens shown)
Aiming: ARC, BRD, MCH, DNC
Maiming: LNC, DRG, RPR
Scouting: ROG, NIN.
Striking: PGL, MNK, SAM
Hmm actually I take that back, I could of sworn there were more Jobs on Scouting, Guess its just that Aiming is overloaded compared to the others. Yeah im all for Scouting getting another.
Late Allagan gear is a good example why Dancer belongs in scouting. They have the same armor as a Tank here which doesn't fit the theme but the Scouting and i think Maiming? Tokens are far more fitting appearance wise.
Striking/Scouting:
Aiming/Fending:![]()

I will say what I say in every job thread. Pirate job with a sword and pistol. Corsair, if you will. I need a job similar to that, a very big mighty need.

I want to say Puppetmaster so badly, but they just can't seem to get pet jobs right.

I think the word is "won't". They have intentionally gone backwards. Summoner is less of a pet job than ever, but at least it's more like a summoner now, though it could use some work.

Doesn't have to be pet focused. Could be akin to how many dps jobs have a gauge that they spend. You casually build gauge then various puppets come out at the cost of gauge for a stronger attack. The big mechanic could be after using a puppet the next combo finisher is enhanced based on the puppet last used.

Gimme Jack Sparrow as a theme who uses a cutlass in close range while peppering in pistol fire. They can also use alcohol as buffs. I’d never play any other job.

FFXVI meets Devil Trigger meets harmonixer meets Terra Branford...
Originally I made a thread on it being dark theme'd (demon-like Harmonixer from Shadow Hearts), but given Reaper, AND FFXVI, I think focusing far more on a primal / esper like vibe would be better. Here it's not a bleach form or temporary cool mode, it's 'the thing' you're doing. Perhaps low levels you're like late reaper / the above gif with titan fists, but there is a relatively early turning point where the mechanics get folded into 'forms', and in those forms is your general existence. Transformation based jobs will always have some gear hiding issues, which for people who want that (me) that is totally fine. Though I do think picking a cool weapon(s) that fit in the form would be a great way to add customization for players.
Weapon plural since there is off hand, which may even be separated more like Paladin- even if the off hand is just for visual customizations (changes looks, dye maybe changing some color vibes, etc). I'm not dead set on a weapon but one suggestion was using the scarf like Nezha has, or Tenne scarf as I saw another reference it, while also including some other diverse options like cloaks and such.
The idea being they're mold-able (tis cloth lol), so you might fit them easier to fit with whatever the forms were imagined to be (if it was say a sword you get pigeon holed a little bit in your designs), they have a fiber like sense so transformations could use Bayonetta like visuals as the object's color is used in part with the animation of it surrounding you. May also think Dr. Strange's cloak or Spawn's cloak. This type of weapon would also give them an opportunity to have a fairly obvious silhouette even when weapons are stored, differentiate the scouting armor greatly from Ninja (as there is a whole extra element), and could also allow for a lot of other freedom in weapon attacks. Like think of Voldemort in the last harry potter movie where he sort of uses his robes as bullets at harry (dark energy). Using a weapon through the transformation can also have a nice meaning to relics, since otherwise it would be silly to have a weapon you worked hard on just so you can never see it lol.

I think the next scouting will either be a whip job (like Seven in type-0), or a mystic knight. Oooor...a mystic knight with a whip.
