Regarding cross-region datacenter travel

I'll pay a visit one of these days.

If you do, I'd suggest going to a data center other than Elemental as those are majority Japanese are so you can get the full experience. If you do go to Elemental, avoid Tonberry as that's essentially an OCE/SEA world with some Japanese people thrown in for good measure.

is this a thing that they're hoping to do? let us travel across regions? i would like to visit EU friends with my home server being on NA but i haven't been able to find much in regards to if that's still an interest they might work on unless i'm just bad at searching

My reply here is purely from memory so please take with many grains of salt. As I remember it there was talk of putting just that into the game but enough of the players on Japanese servers revolted on it the whole thing was rather quietly shelved.

OCE will be even more dead when OCE players can visit NA or EU to do content because everyone in OCE is thinking the same thing

LMAO, the irony of this post in a thread designed to solicit DC travel to the JP DCs. The point will be lost I'm sure ...

EDIT: On an additional note, they DID make a slight error in the calculations for the OCE datacentres. We really don't have the sustained population for 5 servers here, 4 would have been ideal and Zurvan should be merged with Bismark. Zurvan is an actual dead DC.
