FF14 needs to become a series of movies!

I am a new player. I started playing last year and I am really enjoying the outstanding work of the English localization team. The writing is very clever, funny, profound, and amazing overall. I would really love to see a live action film produced by maybe Peter Jackson the man who directed lord of the rings. If he worked together with the FF14 localization team, I think this would be one of the best fanatsy film series ever made! A FF14 film series would hit mainstream and become as popular or even more popular than lord of the rings!

There is/was a live action FFXIV TV series in development but due to COVID it appears all work on it has ceased and nothing further is known.

Unfortunately the FF series has never really been successful in other media (the 2000 FF theatrical film The Spirits Within was an enormous flop that nearly took Square down the drain with it, and the FF TV anime FF Unlimited around the same time was canned after 25 episodes, so all later FF films, animated series and media have since then always gone straight to DVD), and I doubt a live action film for FFXIV would be an exception (the only one that has really did reasonably well was FFVII Advent Children, and even that had it's issues.).

Really, the series is famous for it's complex plots that the RPG genre is perfectly suited to, and this is where the problem lies when it's adapted to media like TV series, which the plot by necessity has to be strictly linear and, more importantly, aspects of gameplay or narrative convienence may work fine in a game, but look stupid in a film or TV series, and SE have been mindful of that, which is why they've been particularly cool on further adaptions of the series to film and TV (save for the FFXV tie ins which also did not do as well as they had hoped).

Personally I think It should be a series of books, The narratives are sooo good and the writers deserve to get theyre works out there for a wider audience. Films and series work too - perhaps it should become a multimedia project hmmm
