There is one paradise about JP data centers, savage raiding is a normal thing because they have up to 25-30% clear rates on all the servers. While NA forums you get pockets of people who think it's just 1% of the game or something in their little bubble.

While raid finder is normally used. JP players that can't pull their weight in Raid finder queue, people just quietly vote to abandon duty and avoid conflict. Not worth making arguments and risking a ban.

2 is false. I run into a LOT of bad parties. I've seen some mistakes I've never witnessed in western datacenters. It's even more frustrating in the japanese servers because they have a culture of not trying to teach anyone.

Things are only priced low in there because most players are self-sufficient.

EDIT: 1 is also false. Japanese have a habit of talking behind other people's back rather than say it to their faces. It extends to the game as well.

they're just more organized. in Hydaelyn ex for example, using the duty finder, everyone just type what role they want to be (H1, MT, D3) and then they clear it with maybe 1 wipe maximum. Sometimes the macro is not even posted because everyone knows what strategy they're using.

It's not about "not risking a ban", it's social etiquette that they wouldn't want to call people out in the first place.

What a weird thread, not sure if bait.
JP servers are pretty chill in general, no stress. Doesn't mean it's better, just that it's different.
Kind of how Aether and Crystal are different.

The fact that SE cannot deem it fit to have such a team for the EU and NA data centre ( they have the relevant SE offices for those countries) is quite appalling . Its one thing that stuns me about FF14 side of SE . The lack of clear and present forum GMs/Moderators , not copy paste response customer service persons , no dedicated anti troll/bot/expolit/hack/RMT staff working in the EU and NA offices like all other MMOs devs/publishers have their versions of staffing EU/NA HQs and very little dev/hr/pa to comunity communications outside of their own native forum section

Its deeply a shame especially as EU and the NA territory make up the VAST majority of this game' subscriber base.

Japanese players aren't anything special. Its just a culture difference honestly. They LOVE to grind and do every piece of content that comes out without much complaining. As for EU and NA we pick and choose what we like to do and usually stay in our own bubbles and we complain non stop about the things we don't like.

I know SE is a japanese company but its actually quite appalling how little effort they put into two of the biggest fan bases when it comes to moderating our forums and having actual GM's in game. They can obviously afford it but there investors need to be willing to pay for the extra costs which they wont cause 1.0 sunk them hardcore.

    1. Nobody is ever toxic or negative, everyone is always extremely helpful and you can make friends with everyone regardless of whether you are japanese, chinese or westerner
    2. They can clear all content via duty finder and party finder with extreme rates of success, be they savage or ultimates, and the skill level in japanese DCs are tenfold what you would find in NA DCs. There is never any debate or disagreements in duties.
    3. Nobody ever overprices or undercuts severely in the marketboard, the economy is extremely healthy and everything is sold and bought at fair prices.
    4. Nobody is ever inappropriate in social interactions, there are no sexual advances or swear words, everything is always kept E.
    5. You can buy houses just by walking up to them and clicking on the placard, there are more houses than there are people who want houses.

If this is all true, this sounds like paradise for most ffxiv players and exactly the ideal world they would like to play in, but if someone here is part of a japanse DC, could you confirm or deny any of these statements?
It is a utopia to believe that Japanese and other Asians are less toxic than in the West, it is the same although in different ways, influenced by their culture.

It's like believing that only WoW players and WoW refugees are toxic.

The internet is just a reflection of our world, since it's the people of our world who populate it.

Before the village idiot was alone or isolated, now village idiots from all over the world meet on a forum or community discord.

There is a name for bullying in school (ijime), just as tatemae is a problem in Japan, it's just a front attitude.

You're different and you don't fit in so you're harassed by everyone else.

Japanese people are certainly helpful, welcoming, etc. But as long as it's in the case of hospitality, in a private setting, it's different. It all boils down to Tatemae, a facade of politeness.

Let's not forget that Japan has one of the highest suicide rates among young people, and not for nothing.

Let's just say that Westerners don't have the culture of front politeness, a kind of politeness by social obligation, it's cultural. Japanese people don't usually say what they really think.

No, absolutely not lol. That said though are they overall nicer, yes.

Westerners who see Japan as some sort of pure utopia are not only delusional but usually also suffer from some kind of fetishizing problems.
I hope if/when we get cross region visits, that westerners don't creep them the hell out via following them around asking them stupid annoying questions about anime whilst also using rude informal slang they've learned through said anime. Plus harassing anyone they might even suspect of being a Japanese woman lord help us all. The weirdos will be out in full force-it's a good thing they don't hesitate to report over there.
