Could we have "tails" disabled on armor with capes? AT LEAST for the new PLD set?

I honestly don't mind the off clipping issue here or there. But in the case of armor that has a cape, it would be nice if the cape itself got priority.

If there is one set in particular this becomes a real eyesore, however, it's the new PLD set. I love the new armor; a perfect mesh of practical-looking armor, with a sleek, form-fitting aesthetic, and the cape is what really rounds out the whole look.

Problem is, obviously, for those races with a tail. It clips through the cape, and just really puts a damper on the whole thing.

To be honest, if the option were available, I would love to play a "human-looking Au Ra". I mainly like their more muscular physique, without being "chonky". I still think their standing animation it way too prim-and-proper, but whatever. But yeah, if I could have normal-looking ears (or even pointed, bat-like ears), no "scales", and no tail, I could make a WHOLE lot more glamour choices work!

Anyway... at the very least, perhaps the tails could be hidden while using this set?

I'd love to have a toggle at the very least, even if it can only be seen by me. It'd probably be unfair to ask for the complete removal of tails from various armors since some people like them that way.

Tailed races just need a tail toggle button like /visor, but for our dangly bits.

Then we could choose whether or not to display the tail on any outfit.

I would actually like a tail toggle. There are glamours I want to have my tail be visible and there are glamours (mainly with capes) that I would want to hide my tail.

I still find it both surprising and unsurprising at the same time that nobody ever asks why these races in fantasy have their tails out to begin with.
The same people who will harp on about gear being '' unrealistic '' for being skimpy will then be totally fine with races like these having them out.
Especially in DnD, a lot of armchair experts who obnoxiously feel like they have to police and well akctkhuallying peoples character designs but then praise Tieflings running around with their tails swinging everywhere.
Same with guys showing skin, it's because unless it's a woman showing any body part that might possibly be seen in an even remotely sexual light or anything feminine at all people suddenly are very accepting of very dumb things and don't question it.

Are tails and ears not important to protect then?
How long would they last if you didn't?
If I had a tail I would rather deal with the discomfort of binding it down and having it inside the armor than having it out, it's part of your body just swinging around there on the outside.
Same thing honestly with horns too the horns are attached to the body if you hit them with a weapon it's going to deal damage to their heads and perhaps even kill.

I don't think that '' muh realism '' actually matters in FFXIV that's not what I am arguing, but I see a lot of people talking about '' it doesn't make sense '' in regards to this and well no it doesn't.
But not in the way they think it doesn't.

Edit: I do think that they should have a non-tail option tbh both for a RP purpose but also for more choice.
It's not that hard to believe that people would actually either lose them or get rid of them by choice.

The Moonward set hid my Miquote tail last night (before I fantasia'd to try Viera again). The PLD job level 89 armor did not.

No half measures. No compromises. No "well what if..". Just no.

If they're not going to make gear that accommodates a major part of a player character race (ie. tucking capes to the side, etc), they should do is make a dummy tail that exists under the cape. I know this is within their ability to do, and its a minor thing. And yes, i remember the Evenstar coat, but i fully believe that the team has the capability to do something better going forward.
As for hats, ear holes or socks or just let them clip and let people decide if they wanna keep their hat on if it looks too janky.

Capes to the side would look kinda weird, the tail should simply be tucked inside the armor or the cape shouldn't exist on them altogether.
Why would you wear a cape as Miqo'te or Au'ra altogether if you were going to have your tail out? It'd be a constant annoyance.

Not really interested in arguing the why; the point is they're making armour with capes, tailed races wear those armours and get their tails chopped off (at least as of endwalker). The armour needs to accomodate the fact that player character races have tails on those races or they need to come up with a way to display the tail under the cape without clipping (if that's their big hang-up for cutting them off).
Hats as of Shadowbringer already have a tendency to chop off ears, and now capes are chopping off tails. If i wanted to play a Hyur, i would.
