You don't have to do any of that. Their names show up in the contacts section of the social tab when you get out of duty.It is an actionable offense.
TIP...If you are queued for MSQ Roulette and get Castrum:
- Once the instance starts (the pen around the group disappears), swing your character's camera view around to see the party face on and take a screen shot. Wait till after the pen disappears, otherwise those who are still in cut scene will have their names as "Viewing Cutscene" in your party list.
- If players drop right after the searchlights are switched off (just after the first cut scene) and/or before the first "boss fight", take another screen shot.
- After the completion of the dungeon, tab out of the game and open the two screen shots.
- From the screen shots, you now have the names, jobs, appearance/race, and time frame of who dropped, you can also look up the names on the FF14 website Community/Character Search page to narrow down to the exact player via their World Server (just sort by your Data Center) in-case the same name is used for different characters. You can match the character's appearance/race vs your screen shots to be sure you report the correct individual. You don't need to keep or submit those screen shots, you are just using them as a "notepad" of sorts to have all the party names and times shown.
- Copy the character name from the search page to paste into your report.
The whole process should take only a few minutes tops.
Those who dropped will be punished.
Why is everyone's first reaction to report players in this game. Who cares if they dropped you are literally talking about doing more work than just doing the dungeon just to report a player for leaving for what ever reason they did. For all you know they had a sudden family emergency and you are trying to get them banned. I am going to make sure to black list you so I never have to play this game with you.It is an actionable offense.

People like you are a HUGE problem with this community.

LMFAO. You aren't gonna get me banned for not playing a piece of crap on this game that should be solo.It is an actionable offense.

So everyone who drops something should be punished? We already have the 30 min timer what more you want?
Instead of this tldr, the best thing to do is make it Trust or Solo. Jesus.

There's nothing to punish if someone wants to leave of their own free will and take the 30 minute penalty. I just...can't with this post.

The fact that 5 people thought it was worth liking this post is frankly alarming. It is an actionable offense.

Just turn them into one-time solo duties for story progress and end the drama.
If you did the whole dungeon with only 4 people and no one else joined, it means one of you (the leader) did not click the recruit more party members button. I have never had to wait more than 1 or 2 minutes for the instance to repopulate, even if almost everyone else has left.
We need to break free from the holy trinity! So, I was just subjected to the half the party leaves Castrum event and I got to say it's dumb and it should be an actionable offense besides the penalty. You willingly queued into a roulette and left when it wasn't the one you wanted. You know the risks involved when queuing into it. You are affecting other peoples experiences when you do this and then they have to requeue into it and have to wait however long it takes.
I understand things can happen and you have to leave, sometimes at the very beginning of a duty, but for those that intentionally do it, yeah you know who are, should be some form of actionable punishment.
Luckily my group just pugged it: Me as Reaper(Tank), Dancer, Ninja and Astro. It took us 32 mins to do it from start to finish with cutscenes included so no excuse as to why
So there needs to be change on some level for it whether it be an actual offense or some thing much more milder than that. I'm just looking out for other rather than myself.
Thank you for listening to my TED talk whomever you are!
This part of story needs to changed to solo instances.
But for those calling to punish and ban people who drop, sheesh, other people are not your slaves. People have free choice, and part of that free choice as a human is to decide "nah, I don't feel like doing this for a minimal XP reward". They get a penalty for leaving, it's enough.
It's not like you can't do it with half the people on autoattack.
やはり、お前は……笑顔が……イイ

I thought the devs already said they're reworking these instances. Been a while since the ARR cull in 5.3, I hope they're actually working on it. As much as the current exp and poetics rewards are nice, they really need to just fix these already. It's a shame they never made more 8 person dungeons, there was nothing wrong with the idea, just don't fill the new ones with cutscenes and that literally would have solved the entire issue.
