Another MSQ roulette post: We need change on some level

I dont really mind getting Castrum for msq roulette tbh. Its called a Roulette for a reason xD i ran into people sometimes that leave Castrum for Prae. Stop wasting people’s time and just fricking do it lol

why is this playerbase so vindictive?

you can't hold people hostage. everyone should be free to leave a duty, regardless of the reason. they get a 30 min penalty for doing so, and that increases with further abandons.

Cape Westwind, Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium should instead be reworked into a solo duty,m maybe with AI companions, and MSQ roulette in its current form either removed or changed to only include Crystal Tower Alliance raids.

instead of trying to punish the leavers ( a symptom) the root cause should be tackled;

So, I was just subjected to the half the party leaves Castrum event and I got to say it's dumb and it should be an actionable offense besides the penalty. You willingly queued into a roulette and left when it wasn't the one you wanted. You know the risks involved when queuing into it. You are affecting other peoples experiences when you do this and then they have to requeue into it and have to wait however long it takes.

I understand things can happen and you have to leave, sometimes at the very beginning of a duty, but for those that intentionally do it, yeah you know who are, should be some form of actionable punishment.

Luckily my group just pugged it: Me as Reaper(Tank), Dancer, Ninja and Astro. It took us 32 mins to do it from start to finish with cutscenes included so no excuse as to why

So there needs to be change on some level for it whether it be an actual offense or some thing much more milder than that. I'm just looking out for other rather than myself.

TIP...If you are queued for MSQ Roulette and get Castrum:

1. Once the instance starts (the pen around the group disappears), swing your character's camera view around to see the party face on and take a screen shot. Wait till after the pen disappears, otherwise those who are still in cut scene will have their names as "Viewing Cutscene" in your party list.
2. If players drop right after the searchlights are switched off (just after the first cut scene) and/or before the first "boss fight", take another screen shot.
3. After the completion of the dungeon, tab out of the game and open the two screen shots.
4. From the screen shots, you now have the names, jobs, appearance/race, and time frame of who dropped, you can also look up the names on the FF14 website Community/Character Search page to narrow down to the exact player via their World Server (just sort by your Data Center) in-case the same name is used for different characters. You can match the character's appearance/race vs your screen shots to be sure you report the correct individual. You don't need to keep or submit those screen shots, you are just using them as a "notepad" of sorts to have all the party names and times shown.
5. Copy the character name from the search page to paste into your report.
6. Open your in-game menu and go Support Desk/Contact/ and report Harassment.
7. Fill out with the information; Date/Time, violation description "Griefing party via dropping from active instance", paste in the character name(s) and their World Server, and submit.

The whole process should take only a few minutes tops.

Those who dropped will be punished.

Yes, the system could be better, until then you use the methods available.
Not doing anything to help stop it, only allows it to happen more.

As to if the player's who dropped have a "legit" reason other than "I didn't want the lesser exp run, so I dropped", that is up to the GM's to investigate.

That is for intentionally disconnecting to force the party to vote dismiss you so you dont take the penalty. Not for leaving an instance which already has a penalty. Otherwise they would just make the leaving penalty increase each instance...

Also, if you start reporting people for leaving you could be actioned for making malicious and false reports lol.

Holy shit bro. There's allegedly 4 people on the report team, and you wanna clog up their already-overflowing report queue with this childish bs? And to take your time and expend this much effort over something so petty is amazing. I can't imagine having such a blessed life that this is the big problem to go after that day. Lol wow. I've never bailed on a duty bc it wasn't what I wanted but wouldn't give two F's if anyone else did.
