Accessibility issues in P3S regarding color AOE's

I would like to formally request that a change be put in place in the Floor 3 Asphodelos raid to more strongly differentiate the color of the AOE markers. The stage is very red, and is incredibly hard to see AOEs. It also causes a lot of eye strain and fatigue.
Maybe it's fine for players with healthy eyesight, but visually impaired players are suffering and we are begging for this adjustment.

I thank you to any who read and support this request.

Couldn't agree more. I don't know what they were thinking visually with this fight. The stage is red, red flames around the arena, in the distance everything is red, AOE are red, all the mechanics are red, adds are red. I'm doing this fight with my static in savage and we can't go for more than an hour before someone has to call it quit because of eye strain and headache. I know the fight is supposed to be a ''phoenix'' but really is that all they could come up with visually ? Probably my most hated fight in the game just because of the bad paint job.

I am putting myself at risk for posting this, But, i really think it's worth it for the community. Devs please consider toning down the lemon yellow on mechanics and Boss, Stage & Sky colors for P3S. This is 1st time in years i've ever requested change this drastic, but i believe this should be reviewed and reconsidered. While I appreciate the original design and ideas for this fight, at first it was cool, but then became troublesome.
Until I recently I've discovered a GShade Preset created by @raykit_FFXIV "The settings only tone down red and yellow and cover sky with grey fog"

    Where i've made comparison shots of the worse of mechanics that brought measure of strain on my eyes;
    https://twitter.com/raykit_FFXIV/sta...10060490256385
P3S 1st Clear with Static original settings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ov7rTVv6IY4
    P3S Reclear with GShade https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3bLacdZ5fw

My Opinion: This has been easier on my eyes, it improves my enjoyment of the fight, during prog my eyes would strain and become red after couple hours, occasionally needing eye drops, it was hard to tolerate it needing frequent breaks costing my Static time, esp. when I had to focus on later mechanics while hearing friends in Voice. Now I'm looking forward to re-clearing this with the static in future and those in PF, had same issues back in E6S with so much bright yellow & orange colors on-screen after a lockout. I would need frequent breaks as now, One my friends was having headache with all the brightness during progging this for hours. Hopefully Dev takes this into consideration in future for avoiding this type of color scheme or at least tone it down a little.
I enjoy doing the mechanics and i want to help people in PF clear, with this preset, I will have better time being asset for the team. I'm able to rest my eyes during long hours of gameplay using the background clouds between mechanics and casts, and enjoy the scenery Devs & Artist created which is gorgeous! I had better time distinguishing silhouettes of the Boss, Adds, tethers, AoE circles while not feeling blinded by brightness, heat of raid wides and other mechanics and their effects on-screen. I wouldn't mind the orange, Red, lemon yellow scheme as a transition, if it was for a specific phase like adds or the final phases in UCOB, but having to see it for entirety of the 10+min fight after long hours of prog during week 1 with my friends, it felt a bit much for even me where I couldn't enjoy it was much as i wished i could. "it became motivation to clear the fight as soon as possible" I think the fights awesome, just wish the colors were toned down a little bit. Appreciate @raykit_FFXIV on Twitter for making this! I believe adjustments should be considered for community enjoyment of the fight.

You can read through many comments on the twitter post about this fight, how much strain and headaches it can induce with very low contrast, bright yellow and orange, causing potential health issues. Everyone has been thankful for @raykit_FFXIV from community for creating this Preset, Including myself, while I would not recommend people using GShade but it's the only bandaid fix we have until Devs take some measure to alleviate this issue for us.

I've experienced the same. I don't have impaired eyesight or color blindness, but the markers are difficult to see.

One of the major problems I found is that they all have that outer glow effect, which makes them blurry and difficult to visually parse. One quick, simply improvement that could be done is just make them a solid color, sharp edges, no blurry effects. You can keep the blue hue for odds and magenta for evens.

Another quick fix would simply be making the arena floor stone grey instead of orange.

I have to second this, and also point out that we pointed this out with Eden's Verse: Furor (E6), and the fact that they did the same design decision again with Pandæmonium Asphodelos: The Third Circle (P3) is honestly baffling.

Same here, my static are currently progging p3s and it's my most hated fight in this game, not because of the actual mechanics but because of how much I have to focus just to identify what is going on in the arena. Also I had to tone down brightness on my monitor to 80% because I was getting headaches

Wholesome agree to all of this - while the color scheme used for this fight in Pandemonium: Third Circle (more so in the Savage version i.e. P3S) is red, and orange it's not great visually given the game's already standard orange AoEs, orange tank tethers and not to mention from others above this post before the ORANGE arena that still play relevance. In talking about P3S to lower some of the brightness from the arena, I see just fine but it makes me more tempted to play in accessibility just to change the color scheme of what's on screen.

It's not like they didn't do a phoenix before. That was what Suzaku was and it had a lot of color to it instead of an oversaturation of red. The platform was far darker as well.

(Update after spending time progging it)

It's actually not that bad in the savage version. The main problem is that the normal mode version has a different tempo and shows the aoe markers in orange as an overlay. In savage there's no overlay, just the spell effects and skill effects, so you have to learn how to dodge things via the effects.

Thanks for bringing this up. I would like some in-game tools to modify some of the flashiness for those of us who are migraine/headache prone. Although personally Boss 3 and all the bright color are not a problem for me. But boss 1 is another story - focusing on the flails in the center of the arena gave me an ocular migraine pretty fast, not sure why. Maybe it was the light at the center contrasting with the dark outer arena, I don't know. A friend suggested I angle my camera up so I can't see the arena edge, but I wish the game had some tools to reduce contrast/flashiness for some of us.

I have healthy eyesight and my eyes still hurt. It's hard to believe that this passed QA.
