Dev's gave you fellowships, but RPs still go to PF and get banned time after time.

Why in the world would you willingly go into someone's room where the other person clearly has the intent to engage in adult RP, only to report them?It was private until a GM came snooping around after receiving a report, and discovered gil was being exchanged for ERP, which is absolutely explicitly not allowed as per the words out of Yoshi-P's own mouth. GMs can access locked rooms and read the logs of everything that happened in them.
You can't report on behalf of others, it would have had to have been one of the persons involved.
Like I said twice already throughout this thread:
There are literally people out there who want the nightlife/RP scene shut down fully and will go into venues to trap workers for the sake of reporting them. It's happened before and still occurs now.
That in itself should be an offense. Disruption of gameplay.
Yes, but what exactly are you gonna say as a counter to that report? "Yes, I was violating the ToS but so were they!"?
Doesn't change the fact that the person in question originally was in violation nor the ruling put onto the person by the GMs. It's a gross way to go about it on the part of the reporters but it doesn't change the reality of the situation that you're breaking the ToS by having paid brothel services and advertising it publicly. The acts themselves are behind closed doors, yes, but the advertisements and carrd information are not.
That is the actual issue here compared to the actual act of ERP. If the ERP was the issue, then the game would be like PSO2:NGS where all messages (private or public) are scanned for sexual content and people are permanently banned shortly after.

At best both will be ban. This problem has been here since forever, or in any social media really, salty people are going to report you because blocking/ignoring and moving on with your life is not enough. Then, you have an even more special kind that do it for the luls, I meet many that like annoying others to get a reaction and then report.Yes, but what exactly are you gonna say as a counter to that report? "Yes, I was violating the ToS but so were they!"?

Still, this is a self made problem by the ERP community in particular, instead of keeping a low profile the whole thing evolved to what we have now. Some forget that even if SE look the other way if they could make it go away without loosing money they will.
It's like with DPS metters, tolerated as long as you keep it to yourself.

Original: https://www.cgmagonline.com/intervie...naoki-yoshida/Press: What is your official stance on player-run “brothels,” wherein two consenting players have cybersex in exchange for in-game currency? [This was a contentious question, and one that Yoshida seemed blindsided by. -Ed]
Yoshida: First of all, there is a user agreement that all players have to agree to before they can even start playing Final Fantasy XIV. Within that user agreement is a clause that prohibits any unacceptable conduct to this end, including behavior that infringes upon laws. Any players who violate those rules will be punished by banning or other penalties. This applies no matter which end of the exchange a player is on. Everyone who plays Final Fantasy XIV is subject to investigation for violating the terms of service, period. Because Final Fantasy XIV is a worldwide game, there is the potential for players from many different regions to interact with one another, and we have legal support available to assist us in investigations to this end in many countries. If you see someone engaging in this type of behavior, we ask you to report it.
Thank you. But he mentioned "including behavior that infringes upon laws". I can not see how it violates laws. OK, maybe in Germany it is not such a big problem. But if they start to allow only such behavior which is the least common denominator of all countries you can play FF14 then almost nothing will be allowed anymore. Mhhh ... not a good outlook for the players. :/
Cheers
Kind of can't do much about that unless they either choose to not make the game global or every country in the world aligns their laws to be the same. What's allowed and viewed as fine in your country may or may not be viewed the same in another (referring to how you can't see how it violates anything). They're still a company at the end of the day and have to protect themselves.Thank you. But he mentioned "including behavior that infringes upon laws". I can not see how it violates laws.
