This. I had a weird argument with someone in my previous FC about guns, and they literally glorified them while vilifying anything straight up sexual.

When you say "vast majority of people" we likely need to geographically isolate that to only certain countries. In world-wide media there is far more eroticism, sexual activity, even full frontal nudity than your average North American server player likely considers possible.

Although, with the cancerous growth of Social Media and all its evils, the "sickness must be purged" threat is slowly starting to spread and replace the previous more open attitudes with Authoritarianism and Puritanism.

Because this game wasn't made as an adult+18 erotic one. FC's and many groups created a separated "world" where they actively promote brothels, casinos, extreme degenerated carrds,websites,f-lists etc and the worst of course modding the game to the point that it looks like some heavy adult skyrim version of FFXIV.

Except this game has literal in-game brothels, prostitutes, also, have you explored Sastasha ? there are quite the colorful text there, or go on to the pvp zone and go on top of the ship, also quite nice innuendo there from the Miqo up there. Or a certain fate in Costa del sol.

Stop showing your puritan sense down others throat, was it made like a adult game ? no, of course no, but Skyrim was also never made an r18+ game yet thanks to those mods it still sells to this day. As long as your gameplay experience is not impacted, why do you care ? Wanna feel morally superior ? Or does it hurt your ego that much that someone has a different sense of fun than you ?

I dislike RPers, both forms, but since I do not like them, I don't go to their venues no matter what they are. If you literally need to repost someone because a PF listing, you have some serious mental issues, This whole game is soo report happy its feels more like a joke. I just shrug my shoulders and ignore the listing. Not everyone is entitled to satisfy your sense of moral superiority.

Blanket statements like the one you want never worked. Trying to remove every single gray area for these cases would also make people trying to follow the TOS to not be able to write anything in the game.

There is no need for any statement. They have been clear about what is and is not acceptable (read the ToS). The only reason you perceive a "gray area" is because the devs have been fairly hands off, allowing people to have their fun if they can do it reasonably and without causing problems for others.

To use a real world argument, this is like going 10-20 over the speed limit or street racing. You shouldn't be doing those things, but basically cops won't care that you do until there's a problem. At the same time, you shouldn't be going out of your way to tell or show everyone you're doing those things. (eg revving your engine and/or trying to street race in a place other people are driving)

Same deal here. Nobody cares if you ERP, even for money, as long as you keep it quiet and don't wave a red flag for drawing the attention of GMs. But if you get caught doing it because someone reported you/you did something inappropriate without consent, it's on you.

there is a huge, huge difference between official and thus approved content like that, and player created/run venues that might or might not share similar topics, where SE quite obviously has no control over it unless they'd manually scan and approve every single line anybody says

One thing is hinting at these things and putting a spin on, another is a full fledged business made by players, it is not tolerated, read the ToS, end of story, and if you got problems understanding parts of it, ask questions about it, so that way you know you are not causing a problem for self and others and potentially minors exposed to actual direct player on player confrontation, and more.

I am just saying what the ToS say, no one is hunting you or anyone else for that matter, some errors was made and some people is paying for those errors and that is that.
