I am very aware that it is too late to stop this process or re-starting sales but I feel like this needs to be said...

Re-starting sales on FFXIV without expanding the CURRENT data centres is a terrible idea!

You seem to think that adding an Oceanic data centre will get people to move around and provide extra space for new players, but I don't think that is the case.

While I'm sure there are a lot of players who would like to make the switch to a more local data centre, you have to consider that some of those players may have too much invested in their current server to want to make a switch to a new server. Players that have houses on the NA or JP servers will not want to move and risk losing that property, I know I wouldn't want to move. Plus there's a processing fee to do that, unless you're offering data centre moves for free.

Any players who actually DO want to move need time to make that change first before new players are re-introduced. Not only that, but there are going to be hundreds of thousands of new players wanting to buy the game as well.

Consider that at least half of the current "free-trial" crowd that did not get a chance to buy the game before sales stopped are now very eager to buy the game so they don't get locked out again. It's my opinion that since the queues aren't gone now, they will only get worse when new players are added.

Perhaps there is some sort of data you have that says otherwise, but without sharing that data with us, what are we to expect?


PLEASE consider waiting at least 1 extra week after adding the Oceanic DCs for players to get re-settled and THEN decide whether or not you should re-start sales...though I still do not think this will solve the problem.

The current players who are paying monthly for the game should NOT be waiting in 2-3 hour queues because there is no space.

These "new expansion" queues should have been gone after 2 or maybe 3 weeks at most. And now we're over a month in and, while the queues are getting shorter, they're not gone yet.

The dedicated players who love FFXIV like me should not have to fight to play a game that they're paying monthly for! PLEASE DON'T MAKE US DEAL WITH THIS UNTIL AUGUST!
