OCE Server Announcement; Are you going?

I'm positing this everywhere I can trying to get the most data I can.
Who is planning to go to OCE servers? What server are you planning to go to? Are you planning on not leaving despite being in OCE?

I'm in South East Asia. The ping from here to Japan and the ping from here to Eastern Australia (I assume that's where the DC is located) will probably be similar. I will move 1 alt to test the ping but most likely my main is staying put.

From Perth, will be staying on Mana. The ping has always been fine unless the sharks are eating the underwater cable again. The incentives to move aren't strong enough to give up my private estate, limited contacts, and more. Plus I'd rather play with players who are courteous even if I can't understand the language rather then deal with the degenerates from my own country.

Hmm, hard choice honestly. But it's a logical datacentre, so it's easy to move about.

On names, Sophia or Ravana I think.

Not Bismark, I'd be thinking of the sunk German battleship and not the whale we jump on. Servers that are associated with being destroyed and sinking into the atlantic have to be bad luck.



Good for this part at least:

The various residential districts on the new Worlds will be unavailable at launch, in order to provide an opportunity for both existing and new players to purchase housing. This restriction will be lifted when the sale of plots and apartments begin in Patch 6.1.

My current main will stay in the USA with my house, friends and FC, my Japanese DC characters will stay in Japan. I have another character I have been slowly levelling, I need to work on him a little harder it seems, he will hopefully - finally - be able to do a static with a lot more ease than currently.

This will need some contemplating.

I like the basic idea of having more English speakers around, but I hope it will keep the more organised culture of the JP servers than what I gather is a bit more chaotic on the US servers.

Also the big thing to think about is character distribution. Currently I have eight characters on different servers in Elemental so I can play them all on a basic subscription. I like having all of them listed together on the menu screen, but to move everyone to Materia would mean not having enough servers to spread them out in the same way.

Do I just go all in, accept I'll need a higher sub now, find a nice FC on one of the new servers and move all my characters into it?

Still try to spread them?

Keep some on the old DC?

Also I'll have to pack up Aurelie's house if I move, and then I'll have to decide whether I want to get a new one or not.
