Honestly this is why I like Frontlines, when you have a reactive team it's fantastic. Not even just organized team pushes - but if your group works as a unified whole at all it can be amazing. With people defending and taking objectives while others strategically push and pull to build up their battle high, swapping in and out to avoid dramatic losses and keeping abreast of the flow of combat to avoid getting caught between two teams. Hell, it's even okay to let the third place team take a resource if it means denying the first place team one, imo. But instead way too many people would rather spread the team thin trying to take down both the first place team and the third place team.

A big problem I've always found with frontlines, or at least the people who play frontlines, is that people are incredibly tunnel visioned and refuse to ever look away from whatever their focus is. You don't need five people parked on an objective that's right next to your spawn, defending it, at all times; if a battle starts going south then throwing more bodies at it is a pretty bad idea, it's okay to retreat and regroup. Let the enemies disperse and hit them in the rear, or draw them out and nail them in a chokepoint or closer to your spawn where you have the terrain advantage. But, instead, when people see a surge in the enemy numbers they'll just push forward and fight to the last, lose every single battle high as well as like half the points the team had then sit there shouting about how we have to focus on killing the team that just beat them in a fight, and from then on half the team will ignore the third team to throw themselves at the first team in human wave tactics while the third team's points just keep going up and up and up.

    Fix Frontlines, please!

    Its pretty simple:
    1. Remove factions completely and make it with 2 teams. Getting sandwiched is not fun.
    2. Add Rival Wings as a new daily type to the daily roulette (so you can participate on 2 PvP modes per day)

No thanks, 3rd GC is actually where the fun part is and avoid the game turns into lob game like RIval Wing
I am already sick enough with years old WoW battleground.
If you are smart enough you can bait 3rd GC to do your bidding
There are so many ways to control how 3rd GC behaves but you are just not seeing it.

    Reason
Change of heart - I still believe PvP is fundamentally broken though. I've just been given reason to keep playing.

Bad groups happen but you usually win when you've got the competent players on your side. All in all, you need to play frontlines and get better at it to enjoy it and be able to make a difference.
From what I can see is most of people’s trapped with old team vs team mindset and they don’t know how to handle with 3 way battle system. For these people, game can only be lob-sided, either he wins or he loses. If he wins, it is all good, but if he loses, he can blame on bad team and moves on.

Under Frontline, he can’t do that because 3rd team becomes and predictable variable and a lot of times he can’t blame on his team because he knew he lost the game because of 3rd team. This type of thread is loser’s cry happens at beginning of every expansion with new players.

No. I enjoy the PVP, as do others. You don't see me on a soap box for Mahjong just because it's unpopular and I personally don't like it.

Half your soap box isn't even remotely factual. Rival Wings pops like crazy during the Moogle events, and there are entire communities dedicated to making them pop, similar to BA runs, Bozja Savage runs, etc. so getting those Rival Wings mounts is far from "impossible". "Feast rewards eaten up by win-traders", people who say this have no actual idea on the small volume that this occurs on most data centers(Primal has it the worst, we know, but why not instead make a post asking SE why they don't take action?). There are more alt account than win-traders on the majority of boards, yet no one bats an eye at those. People not doing objectives in FL isn't the gamemodes fault, it's the players fault. You used to be able to 8-man party into them, to heavily increase your chances of winning, but too many solo players complained. Other than that, all it takes is one person to direct the horde and you usually have a good chance of winning. Yeah, they messed up Astralagos, but who actually cares? The other map is perfectly fine. Trial and error, ever heard of Diadem? What do you expect to be on the forums other than people complaining? Have you gone to the Tank, Healer, and DPS threads? They are 99% "SE messed up my job, and here is how they should fix it".

I'm excited for the new mode, I'm excited to see what years of trial and error will bring. Without even touching it, based off the information in the Live Letter, they are already addressing multiple issues that plagued Feast. You don't have to like it, and that's fine, but don't suck the fun out of the game for the rest of us.

Copium aside, as long as Squeenix doesn't understand that PVP revolves mainly about 1vs1 combat, and then Group content in a MMORPG, FFXIV will never be good in that aspect. If they cant design the fundamentals, how can anyone ever expect them to do any better in large scale PvP?

The amount and type of People queuing for current PvP speaks volumes for itself.

Frontline Roulette exists solely for PvE reasons. If it werent for the exp boost, it would suffer the same fate as Rival Wings.

Feast is just a exclusive Club for cheaters, elo-manipulators and whatever the microscopic rest is. Good Riddance.

Duelling? Doesnt even work for most Job pair-ups.

Doesn't suprise me one bit that the majority dislikes PvP. You gotta be overdosed on Copium to actually like it.

Literally everything other than current raids raids exist for exp.

"Feast is just a exclusive Club for cheaters, elo-manipulators and whatever the microscopic rest is. Good Riddance." - I'll take "missed top 100 and am looking to blame others" for a thousand Alex.

Yeah, they aren't made for dueling. They are balanced for the two modes that require you to be paired with others, go figure.

Saying that because a minority enjoys something means they are wrong is quite ignorant.

Frontline didn’t offer exp or tome originally and there are still 72 men every 5 mins during prime time 7:00 pm to 2:00 am est.
So, you are literally clueless of what you are talking about.

I can't say how far in the past your claim is when it didnt had the EXP reward yet, since i only exist since Stormblood, but if that was during Heavensward, i recall that PvP back then used to be at its peak in many aspects including Job design so it would be understandable if People would queue there just for fun, if the gameplay is. But as things currently stand, Frontline mainly exist just for the Daily EXP dose and thats all there is to it.

Also, my claims come from the EU side of things, and most People there overall dislike PvP and wouldnt even touch it with a stick if it werent for the EXP.

Give me a break already with your Hypocricy about of wanting to help new players, yet all you and people who wear your Armor and post on these Forums do, is hissing at People and start spitting Hairballs the moment someone points out the major faults of FFXIV PvP with your "lmao get gud nub" attitude. I have yet to see a single one of you post a single meaningful comment on these Forums that make genuine suggestions on how to improve things on the side of PvP.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that FFXIV isnt known for its good and fun PvP because of its approach on things.

As for me, i stopped bothering going past Gold Rank ever since Season 18, because the effort clearly isnt worth the Armor. If 677 Games as BLM in the first Month dont get me past Gold, then neither will 1200 Games.

But personal matters aside, IF Squeenix fails with the 6.1 changes by simply keeping the Jobs as is with just some comedy Potency adjustments and 1-2 new skills, they might as well give up entirely on PvP imo. But as usual, we first have to "wait and see".
