    A fatal DirectX error has occurred.(11000002)

    Hey there, I have been getting this error code for the past 24 hours. A fatal DirectX error has occurred.(11000002). I can be logged in for 10-15 minutes before I get this error and the game closes.

    I have tried turning my computer off and on, many, many times. I have tried re-installing the game, twice. The first time I used windows add/remove programs and then hard deleted the file. The second time, I used FFXIV launcher and chose "Restore Game Data". I have also tried a myriad of changes to my settings in Nvidia and Windows, to no avail.

    I have searched and searched online to find solutions, but all of the posts with similar issues are from years ago.

    nvidia driver 511.23 is now available, i have confirmed stability with this driver in FFXIV across a number of nvidia graphics devices ranging from Maxwell V2 to Ampere without any hint of crashing,

    the 496 drivers had a number of stability issues on certain CPU/Memory configurations that you might find resolved by updating.

    Its quite likely not an issue in the game client as the majority of us can run the game for days of solid gaming without so much as a hint of crashing,

    you need to make a thread of your own with support information posted and then be ready to look at the things you have active at the time of the crash.

    If you have not do so already, could you try using a registry cleaner such as CC cleaner? It will run and remove files that may have been left behind by installation another activity on the PC. To so, please remove the game and then restart the PC. Run the registry cleaner and then restart the computer. Once the computer has been reset please reinstall the game again. After reinstalling the game, please restart the PC once more. Once the PC has been reset, please launch the game.

    are you using the realtek sound or hdmi sound?

    Screenshots of the associated modules list in Resource Monitor when filtering by the ffxiv_x64 process would be a big help because these suggestions likely won't help when the system has so many utilities present that force their way into every application.
