Roleplaying quality of life changes and alts

Though I understand it's not a concern to most people--the roleplaying experience right now is suffering greatly from a few very small problems that with small tweaks could instantly improve the entire roleplay experience. The greatest of which is alts.

To roleplay a different character, one would have to either fully level the alt and beat the story or buy a story skip and level boost, which for most roleplayers isn't exactly feasible. You are either doomed to roleplay the same character or only in ARR areas on a low level character with no glams.

"Well just roleplay one character" Maybe, this could work, but this is stiffling in another way. There is no way to now create "NPCs" or story characters for roleplay event-runners.

I can think of a number of solutions, some I understand are more or less realistic and difficult to implement, such as:

A trial system in which we can make level 80/90 characters with that have a limited time duration or inability to level up which can be used to experiment with classes and areas etc...

Having a way to have account-wide glamour dresser or some such system. These two combined would solve the entire problem

Alternatively...

Could make story skips and level boosts free for those that have already beaten those parts.

Additionally I am interested in how others have approached roleplay and if they've had any success attempting to create npc based roleplay events somehow.

This alone I can see being easily exploited by botters. You would have to restrict it to only towns, no ability to trade/use market, no retainers, no combat of any type. Quite likely not what you, or other parts of the RP community, would want this type of thing for.

Edit: And why would they make one of their moneymakers free for people who've already cleared the story past that point on another character? The fact that tons of people already buy them means that they won't ever make it free.

Even if they had full player functionality I struggle to see what you could possibly bot with a character starting from nothing in 2-8 hours before it expired that you couldn't just do with a max level character better. Maybe add the clause that you can only make one if you have a max level character first so free accounts do not use them, or have them need an active subscription.

Talking about Roleplay, do people even do "in-universe RP" with walk ups and such? Most RP I found has been nightclubs and the such in the party finder where people kinda just play The Sims but online and with cat and bunny girls, maybe Aether doesn't have a strong RP community, but it would be nice doing some Eorzea RP to pass time here and there.

Every rp community suffers having a subsection of it that just treats their game like IMVU. There is plenty of good rp and roleplayers to be found on both EU and NA from my experience, plenty of dedicated in-universe rpers and communities. They just lack tools to provide that next level of roleplay and stick mostly to DnD like stat sheets and using raid markers/social rp and such, even using in game dungeons FATES and such for rp content, but without the ability to make multiple characters and a quick way make event npcs it's never going to reach that next level, I believe.

Because there's a beautiful world and amazing story with plenty of worldbuilding out there to interact with and build complex stories with, you're not going to find that in the housing district and not by playing social characters forever.

I mean, I'm very sure SE is aware that rpers like to have leveled up characters for the zones, etc and whatever else. Having to purchase the stuffs is what they want. Why wouldn't it be? More $ in their pockets; working as intended honestly.

Eh, maybe so, but I have hope for the future of rp with the new bloom I've noticed.
