    Samurai Stat Priorities

Hello everyone. I just got my Samurai to 90 and crafted a whole set of classical gear for him. I want to start putting some materia on him now but do not want to waste putting the wrong ones into them haha. Can anyone give me advice on which stats should I gear towards to and which stat weight are important? Thanks in advance

I do not know the stat weights.

My own inclination is to max out Crit on everything. After that (and you may need to play around with this a bit) raise bit DHit and Det trying to keep them equal.

My reasoning is that both suffer from increasing tier sizes (if it takes 25 points to see one increase in effect, will take 27 more for the next increase, 29 for the third, etc- numbers purely for illustration). You should get more bang for the buck by raising the power of the two up to the higher of the two, than raising the higher or the two a like number of points.

That’s what my gut tells me, anyway. It’s what I would do were I inclined to make and meld that stuff for almost anyone (BLM getting SpellSpeed then Crit being the only exception I can think of offhand).

ok thanks. I put a bit of skillspeed to make my skills faster but yea i concentrated on crit and direct hit. Although i did not notice that my gear set already has high direct hit so i may have overshoot that stat. Already 1600+ direct hit lol. I may need to remove some Direct hit and put in more crit and determination

I have a bit too much direct atm at 1600+ while my crit and determination are only at 1400 and 1300 respectively so i will need to transfer some direct hit stat to these other two stats

Yeah, you always want skill speed to what's comfortable to you, but allows a smooth rotation with fillers. That's 2.14-2.15, 2.06-2.07 and 1.99-2.0.

After that they're mostly equal. Later in the expac a certain star may pull ahead more depending on the curve.

Personally, I prefer wither the 2.14 or 2.0 myself. The new rotation is a bit more complex than ShB due to having different fillers for odd and even number minutes and doing just 1 GCD can be tough.

Though fight mechanics can basically destroy any rotation you have anyway and you'll have to adapt with Hagakure to make sure you stay in the proper burst window.

I prefer the fast rotation but right now you have to give up so much to hit that sks tier I don't feel it's worth it.
