Game crash to desktop, no error message

Been having the game crash with no error message popping up, and no log is showing on the windows event viewer side. Has only happened specifically when opening lockboxes from Eureka/Bozja and spearfishing. The last bit happens inconsistently, sometimes crashing at the attempt at spearfishing, or just not showing the minigame window at all and crashes after the "timer" runs out.

Initially thought it was a RAM issue, but it doesn't seem to be the case as this only happens specifically for FF14. Have done a clean reinstall of the game, drivers, even windows. Would anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

    Current specs are :
    Device name DESKTOP-E9PT4UR
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz
    Installed RAM 16.0 GB
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super

sounds like you're using the dx9 client, it'll silent crash when it runs out of address space.

The launcher toggle is set to 11, don't think I have ever changed it.

rules that out then, try updating to 511.23 released today, i've put ffxiv through the paces and had no stability issues, i never tried any of the 496 drivers because of reports of stability concerns on older systems.

If you happen to use any third party tool for screenshotting, these can corrupt ffxiv memory and only result in a client crash hours later.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

Please provide a system report from the game by going to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.' Copy and paste the details of the selection to this post when replying back.

Unfortunately still crashes with also a clean install after, but still fails. Haven't ever used any 3rd party tools myself, very seldom do I take screenshots.

Greetings and thank you for the reply Shuckle,

I apologize that this issue is still ongoing for you and suggest to perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the 'Start up' Tab. Then, disable everything and restart the PC. Additionally, did this issue mostly occur after upgrading to Windows 11? Have you attempted to run the game on DirectX 9 from the 'Config' button on the launcher to see if this may help?

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!

check the Mixer (App volume and device preferences) to see if the selected device is blank.

not including the running processes list from the support info leaves an info black hole.
