If there is an ongoing maintenance or issue, we kindly ask you to wait for further updates.
If there is no ongoing maintenance or issue, it is possible there is a transmission or connection error. Please try these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
■ Perform a connectivity test on your PlayStation®5/PlayStation®4
Test to see whether your PlayStation®5/PlayStation®4 is properly connected to the network.
From the home menu, select [Settings] → [Network] → [Test Internet Connection] to perform the test.
■ Perform a system update on your PlayStation®5/PlayStation®4
Perform the most recent system update and then try a version update for FINAL FANTASY XIV Online.
PlayStation®5: The update can be performed from the home menu by selecting
[Settings] → [System] → [System Software] → [System Software Update]
PlayStation®4: The update can be performed from the home menu by selecting [Settings] → [System Software Update]
■ Restart communication equipment
Turn off the power of your router and/or modem for 30 minutes to an hour.
Unnecessary data accumulated on the equipment will be initialized, possibly allowing for smoother transmission.
■ Update firmware of communication equipment
Update your firmware for your router/modem if an update is necessary. If the firmware is outdated, your equipment may not function properly, so please update before trying to update the game again.
*Consult with your equipment's help manual when updating firmware. Also, even if your firmware is up to date, rewriting it may improve the situation.
■ Check security services of your Internet provider
Depending on your Internet provide or service plan, there may be security services included. Please confirm that these security services permit online gaming.
■ Remove routers
In order to diagnose the issue, remove routers and hubs temporarily.
*This may change your connection to a broadband connection. Please consult with your provider for connection settings.
■ Check router settings
Check the settings of security functions (such as SPI) for your router. Also, please forward the ports used for the game. The ports are listed below:
*For more details, please consult with the manufacturer of your router.
▼UDP
55296~55551
▼TCP
80
8080
443
55296~55551
Note that we can confirm that there are no current reported issues with the servers. If the issue is indeed involving the connection itself from your provider, we unfortunately cannot provide more than just general troubleshooting. We advise making a report with your ISP regarding the issue and requesting if they can provide a workaround or if they can possibly reroute your connection to another node to see if this will prevent the lag/dropoffs from occurring. We apologize once again for the inconvenience and hope this information is useful.
Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!
The last few weeks I have been having pretty bad latency in FFXIV (and only in FFXIV) during those same exact hours. I always know when it's 7 PM PST because the obvious lag to FFXIV begins like clockwork.
Also using AT&T.
The problem here is, if you have read ANY of the other threads, people know what server hop is causing most of the issue. The problem is SE needs to reach out to this server jump. As individuals, we can do nothing. If SE wants to do nothing then that's really going to suck. Because I love this game, but if it isn't playable after I get off work I will have to quit. I am an Internet Technician, I very much know how servers work and home equipment and I am able to run my own pretty in-depth tests. There is nothing holding me back nor anything wrong with my equipment.Greetings fellow Eorzean,

yeah, just canceled the raid day because we can't even see the aoe went off without getting hit. The lag is really really bad.

It sucks having to do this because you shouldn't need a third party software to play the game...
But give Mudfish a try maybe, 3 Euro/ Dollars is like 27gb when you take the free data you get for verifying your mail too and it only uses data for the game so that will last a LONG time ( avoid updating with it on tho ).
I've been having problems every friday to monday, it's complete hell I could only play three days a week and even on those days I'd sometimes lag...
It's two nodes that are just horrible and especially bad during weekends and mondays with constant packet loss.
Mudfish lets you go through better nodes instead.
Either that or another VPN, but Mudfish is very cheap if you want to use it only for FFXIV.
I went from constant rubberbanding over and over again multiple times a minute to buttery smooth when I tried it.
Edit: To be clear it's 3 Euro/ Dollars to '' load '' your account with that too if you go with pay for traffic instead of a subscription so it's not per month.
When you're out of data you simply add more.
