So i’ve been thinking... did we see any Garleans become blasphemys? The people in garlemald who did turn were from thavnair.

I speculate that Garleans (pure blooded anyway) would be immune to dynamis transformations, and that is why Fandaniel decimated them prior to dying.

Garleans cannot use aether, so having little to no control over aether they would have a far closer connection to dynamis, and thus have more control over, or be less susceptible to it. They would be stronger still do to all the suffering they survive through living in a frozen wasteland and being warmongers and such.

Case in point, Thancred.
He lost his connection to aether after getting teleported with yshtolas flow spell. He was the only one strong enough to resist meteion as we approached her lair. She even said his will reshaped it to be habitable. His will was so much stronger because he had no aether to draw on only his self. He was still affected heavily because he did once have a connection to aether that he is still connected to but he was the last Sion to fall because he was strongest with/resistant to dynamis.

The garleans lived their whole life without aether, imagine how much stronger they would be against meteion. So fandaniel wipes them out so they don't become a problem. Except he had planned to kill Zenos too but we interrupted that plan

So Zenos is completely and utterly unaffected by meteion . Even without the Shinryu form i think he would have just waltzed around meteion if he just joind us on the flight in. Gaius was mysteriously absent the whole expansion, i think of he had joined the party on the spaceship he would have ended the battle far to quickly same as zenos.
