We just spent the last few expansions uniting the people of Eorzea, dragons, the Near and Far East, Garlemald, the beast tribes, etc.. Why would we suddenly all go to war against each other? It would make everything we did previously meaningless.
I kinda grew tired of WoW's whole "Alliance and Horde work together to defeat a common foe and are now back at each others throats." every other expansion.

They add PvP as mandatory in the game to progress in the MSQ I retire.

Yeah. You wanted to gank people you had problems with. If they wanted to participate in a fair fight we already have a dueling system (yeah it's not great, but it's there). I remember you distinctly argued for a "might makes right" approach.
The underlying problem with semi-involuntary PVP , as in I have reasons to be in the area and objectives that are not PVP-related but can be dragged into a PVP engagement at any time , is always that for one side of the engagement it's usually a detriment and most of the advantage and enjoyment goes to to the attacker.
This kind of system is at best just something else to do in a game and almost always inspires toxic tribalism and adds decidedly negative experiences to the game for at least a third of its "participants" especially if you put rewards in that part of the game that are unavailable anywhere else.

I think that kind of an expansion is not the kind of adventuring that is hinted at the end of the 6.0 MSQ, nor should it in my opinion.
Do more content for instanced pvp, but leave the open world out of it.
I, could honestly not think of a worse way for this game to go than to focus on PvP.
Legit, I really can't other than perhaps Free to play.
The vast majority of the content in this game has been PvE focused. The few attempts at PvP like Rival Wings (dead) or the Feast (hacked and exploited to all hell) has been MASSIVE failures. I mean let's be real, they didn't even update SMN skills for PvP, we still have DoTs. The do not care at all. This has led to a community that generally does not care.
A lurch towards a PvP focus would be a ridiculous tonal and focus shift for this game I doubt would be received well.
I mean, I suppose that would be a really effective way to reduce those overpopulation-induced server queues..?
