so lets talk about reusing gear sets

so we got the new tome and new crafted gear.
tomes taken from NPC'S gear , its looks so so and based from dragoon. why the tank set is dragon? why ninjas got the same one as mages?
as for crafted its a reuse from a PVP set. and not even one that people love that much.
this after 0 new crated sets from 70-90? we starting to get less dungeons and now less new gear sets? now don't try to say its because new classes or races. new classes don't have unique sets and new race don't have unique body. don't say "just glam it" as it sucks to have the first thing you think when you look at new gear you will work to get for the next 3-6 month "well i just glam it" and this on top of all the nft talk.
don't like where it go. it just strange as they just don't do gear sets not even for the cash shop.

I'm tired of a lot of things in regards to gear sets but they aren't gonna change it so....

1. Dying. Like just let us dye anything.
2. Glamour job restrictions, like ok.
3. 1 and 2.

Whatever. This team can do whatever the heck they like.

Yeah, the design of the sets, dyability and glamour is something they really need to address.

It does feel they are getting lazy in terms of gear design and reusing assets with color swaps. It's happened before, but it feels more common this expansion.

The tome gear isn't based on dragoon as such, but is the armour of the guards of a city ruled by a dragon. Thus the dragon theme makes sense, although I do think it's a bit lacking in Thavnairian flavour. Ninja probably would have been better off getting the striking armour, but still overall it's the same amount of gear we always get per series: three designs distributed among the seven roles. And over on the Eorzea Collection Discord at least, people have been hoping to get the Radiant Host's armour since 6.0 launched.

As for the PVP gear, I think you're underestimating how much use some of the pieces get already (particularly the mage sets, and the aiming set is good for DNC) and this recolour has actually fixed one of the glaring issues with the old set, which is that the metallic parts dyed to a flat colour as if they'd been painted. The new gear dyes as coloured metal instead, which is far more useful. Also, the leather parts on the chitons previously dyed along with the cloth, but this version stays uncoloured.

(Edit to add: I'm playing around with the old and new versions of the Medicus set and it seems that the new version is something of a "HD upgrade" with more detailed textures on many of the parts.)


I am rather disappointed with the volume of gear in Endwalker overall, but I don't think these specific sets are a problem.

to be fair theyve been reusing assets like this since literally 1.0, but i do agree it was jarring to see the arr pvp sets reused as crafted gear
now that the sb set has been reused too, i feel like they might do that for all remaining pvp sets.

I dont actually mind them Resusing gear sets as long as it is done smartly. I.e reusing the gearsets but shuffle the roles. They did this with the ala mhigo set in SHB and i think it worked out really well.

The fact the raids aren’t even voiced is so disappointing….on top of everything else it just feels like we’re getting less when we should be getting more. The fact they reuse gear and then can’t even role swap it or make it dyable is beyond ridiculous not to mention they literally scammed us out of an entire left side gear set from the 89 dungeon.

yep its feels that way , and dunno why , FFXIV atm is at the top...now when SE needs to work to keep ppl
