Not saying Energy Drain is 100% good, they could’ve made a better stack spender alternative. But I’d take that over sitting at 3 stacks because fairy heals makes up considerable (arguably disgusting amount) portion of their heals.

And what about Lilies being ‘rewarding’? They are basically a 232p Glare: a loss, provided you will get a Misery use out of it. Except in AoE situation which hardly happens in boss encounters.
This is just another example of players who don't understand the intricacies of the job mechanics enough to understand what they're complaining about.

Removing ED gives SCH all sorts of resource issues and is needed as a dump to stay up on MP. And no, spending overcapped resources on extra healing when it's not needed for MP like on SGE is dumb design and we don't want it on SCH.

Since when do you need ED to keep up on MP? You still quoting ShB skills? You need Aetherflow to keep up on MP and while I dont agree this is the way it should be implemented you could just use Aetherflow on CD separate from ED.

I'm aware, but why would you AF if you haven't used all of your stacks yet? That just feels bad and its unintuitive. So even though you don't recover MP directly by ED's use, you use ED anyway to burn extra resources before AF cause that's the design of the job (unless you like being unoptimal or just enjoy overhealing). So effectively it's a recovery tool, in my opinion.

Keep them separate, sure. I think then you just reintroduce other issues like having nothing to spend AF on besides overhealing, which isn't good design in my opinion. There's a reason people begged for it back in Shb.

Wanting ED as a spender with DPS is (or at least has been) a really big part of the SCH identity and one of the reasons people migrated towards sch in the first place. Balancing DPS vs Heals was a fun mechanic.. when the DPS provided meant something. Now it feels lackluster and is really just a dump or a tiny reward for a lot of effort.
I'm not all that surprised that newer players to the job like OP here doesn't really like the idea. In its current form it's a half measure and really doesn't satisfy either side of the discussion.

They could just give us Bane back to Spread and Refresh Dots for an Aetherflow charge so we never have to cast Biolysis after the first time or tab target 15 mobs.

Meanwhile i still don't get why people care about overhealing so much. Without a DPS meter you wouldnt even know how much you overhealed and WHM and SGE overheal by design (not even refering to addersgall). Dumping all your AF stacks with the 1s cooldown heal, if you really need that fey gauge this badly, is virtually the same as using ED except you overheal instead of tickling the enemy. Instead of bringing ED back they really just should've overhauled the entire system.

Because overhealing doesn't make the boss die faster but 100p extra damage does? Nobody needs DPS meter either to tell that healing a player with 68,000/73,000 HP with a button that heals 13,000 HP is an overheal and it definitely doesn't make me feel better if I can just let my fairy maintain that health in healthy range even longer while I throw in extra 100p or more until I need to heal them later on. It adds up.

Yeah and on the flip side using AF for healing is a 100 potency loss, with 3 AF heals youre DPS losing as hard as WHM using lilies. Which feels worse than overhealing imho.
Plus your example only applied to SCH anyway, not the entire healing role.

I mean this is a SCH focused feedback thread, so I don't see the issue with what they said.

Aetherflow at least gives you an option on where the resources get invested (offensive vs defensive), and well if I have to I'd rather take a 100p loss by weaving Sacred Soil or Indomnitability after a Broil over having to hardcast Succor + Energy drain and throwing away almost 200p, but then again it's not like the playerbase designed SCH and WHM's skill kits to be a potency loss for using their abilities in a supportive manner.

Have to agree with you. ED right now doesn't feel like a DPS gain. It feels like a means to keep up with other healers damage. If ED meant destroying the competition then that would be a different story.

What you currently see is SCH keeping up and maybe in some rare cases beating SGE but their healing is about 800k

SGE on the other hand can still very easily beast SCH in rDPS with 3 mil + healing.

Scholar sacrifices just to keep up, not for a dps gain.
