They did it wrong, though. The list aligns to the bottom; it doesn't grow upward. If you look at the screenshot in the patch notes, player 1 is still at the top of the list. This means that as people join and leave the party, your own spot moves up and down as the party grows and shrinks. They should have made it reverse sort so that player 1 stays at the bottom regardless of how many party members there are.
The lazy way this alignment has been implemented means that if you are using the "Align List to Bottom" option, you cannot have slot-specific party action macros on a hotbar next to the party list because they won't line up with the correct targets when the number of people in the party is anything but the exact number the hotbar was designed for. A bottom-aligned party list needs to grow upward so that hotbar buttons are consistent regardless of party size.
