Change Sages Icarus please

It's so annoying to have to click someone just to dash to them. It would be nice if it were as useful as other jobs dashes, because this one just sucks. It's especially annoying for PS5 players who do not want to play on a keyboard. I don't care if you think its better. Its just not my playstyle, and moves like this don't help. They need to remove the need to click on another player, and maybe give it an extra charge. It would go a long way to helping dodge things while we are healing and doing damage. I keep trying to get used to Icarus, but out of all of the Sage abilities, I just can't. Its not fun this way. I usually just toggle my run ability in its place instead.

What other classes you mean, the only class that has a non targetable dash is DNC, RPR and reaaaaaaaaaaaaally arguably DRG with Elusive. Everyone else has a Target dash or disengage, as in : DRK, GNB, PLD, MNK, SAM, BLM, BRD, SGE.


Thank you Maxilor for reminding me that RPR is also non targeted, I literally forgot about that class (I leveled it, but dont enjoy it.)

Just /ac it to some specified target, whether that's MO, TT, or a fixed party number. You have so many weave windows you can afford a macroed teleport. I personally hate untargeted teleports. Egress and Ingress are the worst; they are obviously meant to represent a gapcloser and a backstep but they are targetless so Egress will shoot you toward your target if you try to activate it while running away--which you should be able to do without having to remember to press the forward teleport button instead of the backwards teleport button.

I mean, if you're playing Healer, odds are you're going to have a way to easily target players...

As a healer you are individually targeting players to throw kardia/shields anyways , whats different?

If its player 3 of 4 that you want to jump to you select them like you would if you were throwing a shiield on them

If you had no target and the default was dash forward , like the reaper has , how is that going to get you out of a large conal/circle/half arena attack if your facing the wrong way . having to select a friendly means you dont even need to be facing the right way.


I suggest practice how to switch targets , and use icarus and modify its location on your hotbars for fast emergency access if you are slow to use it to escape danger

Was going to chime in with the same. If targeting a player isn't part of your playstyle then Healer just isn't going to be for you.

Yeah, it doesn't work out as easy as you think.

Have you attempted <mo> (assuming you're on pc)? I haven't had any issue using this skill this way.
