Welcome to NN!
Welcome to NN!

I think the kick was OK. The novice chat has the purpouse to help new players. It is not the right place to complain about the game.
Cheers

Mentors shouldn't be able to kick to begin with. There should be a GM monitoring the chat. I'm pretty sure SE can afford hiring one or two professional moderators per server.
Novice Network is just a playground for power tripping mentors to hangout. Thus far Squenix has shown no desire to police it.
This is a fairly well known fact.
Willingly incensing the genuinely helpful mentors of Zodiark's NN, consistently bringing down the vibe with things that boil down to 'trash game lul', then when you finally get kicked for being vicariously obtuse, you make the Cloaker's words from Payday 2 sound less like a burn and more like a prophecy.

As someone playing in Zodiark AND is in Zodiark NN. Every time you just whine and complain about the game and the devs and being mad for no particular reason.
You could have easily asked "Can someone tell me where to find X"
Instead of "Idk where I can trade this item for X. Wtf the devs are so lazy. Why I have to google it???"
Then you'll have gotten your answer in the same minute.

Dunno, looks like OP just outed themselves. I noticed they referenced a recurring theme with him, so I'm going to lean toward probably deserved.
The mentor very obviously insulted the OP first though, by saying "anyone with a functioning brain" which by implication excludes the person asking the question. And then kicked him when he fired back, so... both were not behaving very well, but the mentor basically baited him into a kick.

It certainly appears that way. No one is innocent here. Still, it looks like it started well before (minutes, days, who knows) what the OP clipped for a screenshot, so I feel we are missing the full story. Having been part of my server's NN for a time, there was always one or two people who used it not to seek help, but solely to complain about the game or simply cause trouble, which annoyed everyone. Sprouts and mentors alike grew tired of it. I'm not saying that was the OP, but it's a possibility. Even so, Mentors are supposed to handle themselves better (and sadly many do not), which comes back to no one being innocent in this situation. The mentor very obviously insulted the OP first though, by saying "anyone with a functioning brain" which by implication excludes the person asking the question. And then kicked him when he fired back, so... both were not behaving very well, but the mentor basically baited him into a kick.
