the most basic advices for a new player :)

Hi, i just started 4 days ago, and only played 1 day. i played FFXI for a year and now o wanted to try FFXIV.
I have some questions and can't seem to find the answers.
.-I have heard about "equipping" cure as a gladiator, how do i do that? i level up conjurer to learn cure and protect and want to use them with gladiator.

.- i have read that many players don't craft low level equipments because they don't sell.
So i wonder is there a place where i can buy armor or weapons without gil because i'm doing leaves and they just give me to little gil, and the npc prices for everything is to high (something like using conquest points like in FFXI)

.- I like using heavy armors with my char, so i think paladin will suit me, what craft should i level in order to make armors, i'm searching the internet and all the guides seem outdated.

.- maybe the game is to young, but i don't see to many armors, weapons, jobs etc.
I joined FFXI to late but the advantage was that there was a lot of content, and to many jobs to suit one's style (i miss my mithra thf)
    Thanks for the help!!!

On equipping cross-class abilities, take a look at this page. You just check out the left hand side of the Actions menu, under "Additional Actions", click on the Conjurer Icon (it looks like a branch with leaves). This will bring up the Conjurer actions list, and you just pick Cure or whatever other abilities you want from Conjurer. Keep in mind there are 2 restrictions: You can only equip abilities that fit your Class, so Gladiator can only use things from Conjurer that includes "Requires: Disciples of War" in its description. The 2nd restriction is that you are limited in the amount of cross-class abilities you can use. It's the number to the right of "Additional Actions". You start off with only 1 cross-class slot but as you level up you gain more.

For low-level equipment, there are Newbie NPCs in the adventurer's guilds that sell level 1 to early 20's items that are extremely inexpensive. If you have trouble finding them they are marked on the map.

Lastly, if you want to craft armor for Paladin/Gladiator, of course you would need to level Armorer =P

//Edit: Just check the link Estellios posted.

After you have leveled your Conjurer high enough to learn cure and protect, you can equip them on your Gladiator by selecting Actions and Traits on the main menu.

The Action Bar Layout on the right is the place where you equip all the abilities you want to use. Additional Actions on the bottom right include all the abilities you have learned from each class (click class icon to change class). There's a limit to the amount of abilities you can equip from other classes (1-5) so you have to make a choice. Anyway, you can equip the ability you want by simply clicking it. There are some limitations though, some abilities are limited to certain class.

Unfortunately there isn't, but levequests and normal quests give you some weapons and gear pieces and you can also get them free from NMs. The closest thing to buying gear with conquest points in this game is buying gear with seals from Grand Companies, but those pieces are for higher levels. This thread might help you a bit though.

I recommend you check out the Moogle Box for updated items and crafting recipes (the mob location tool is great for exping too!). I guess Armourer might be a good choice for you.

There are 7 classes (and jobs) for disciplines of war and magic, 8 classes for grafting and 3 classes for gathering. They will be adding more classes and jobs in the future. As for armour and weapons, I recommend checking Moogle Box again, there are plenty. The current level cap isn't the final one so there aren't any of those final end game pieces XI had but there are many weapon and armour choices for level 50 too.

Hope this helped. I wish you good luck in your adventures!

Yes, you're right with the aggro thing. I think they won't aggro you if you're 10 levels or so higher than them.

I haven't had the issue with disappearing monsters, so unfortunately I can't help with that. Sounds like a bug though.

I have one last question, i'm level 8 miner ATM. i want to level up armorer, i see recipes on the internet but i'm wondering this.
    To make a lets say
lv1 bronze rings i need 1 Earth Shard + Bronze Ingot am i correct?
But the bronze ingot costs me 1500(npc) so this means that i need a lot of money to level up armorer?
Or is there a more cheaper way to do this?
    Please advice me

also, instead of spamming standard while levelling up your armorer, try to mix in some careful synthesis as well. this will increase quality and thereby exp per synth

You should rarely ever need to buy items from an NPC for synthesis. You can make a bronze ingot using 2 copper ore and 1 tin ore. You can get tin ore from mining in Bentbranch or Bearded Rock, and copper ore from mining in Black Brush. Also, you can buy items off of the market wards in town if you cannot buy them yourself. Do note that all three towns have different merchant houses dedicated to them, so you'll want to search all three if you want to find the best deals.

Also, you may wish to look into local leves. You can accept these at the leve counter in the adventurers' guild. They allow you to do synths for free, and then they reward you with shards and materials you can use to craft on your own.

As someone who started about a month ago, I'll tell you what I wish I knew when I was worried about gil and how I'd eventually gear up.

When you start doing the Lv10+ leves, you make about 2000-4000 gil instead of like 200 gil per leve. Also, around levels 10 or 15, a bunch of side quests start opening up in all the cities, and more pop every 5ish levels. Do these quests, they're soloable, and they award low level gear. For things the quests don't get you, you'll probably have enough gil to buy things off the mercantile house. Oh, and keep up on your main story quest, and ASAP get on Company quests, as they both award tons of gil, eventually in the hundreds of thousands.
