What's the point with that quite lackluster story in Endwalker?

I am still catching up but am well into the 6.4 content (have completed the Aetherfont instance). Still waiting for this "lackluster" story I keep hearing about. Still enjoying it. Man, I guess 6.5 must be a major bummer or something (I know a little bit about what's coming up but have avoided major story spoilers for the most part).

• The mighty Zodiark, which has been build up as this mighty(evil) entity over several expansions, turns out to be nothing but filler trash for the first Endwalker trial
• The true cause of the Final Days is a pet-project from an ancient which goes mad after observing countless dead world and possibly causing the death of several world by projecting negative emotions unto them, and is thus dead-set on bringing despair to every world, upon which said ancient goes mad and is now letting her run her course to test humanity if they can withstand/fight despair
• Venat, who hasn't had her memory wiped + still remembers you from being in Elpis, quite apparently doesn't lift a finger to learn about Dynamis herself or to mobilize the other ancients to end Meteion then and there, and instead chooses to turn herself into Hydaelyn, sunder the world and the inhabitants, thereby forcing them to live with and face despair and gambling that their resilience against despair might be enough to face Meteion one day

Ye the msq was a total shit show. To much bad parts.tge "war" where NI ine got killed was stupid. Zodiark even more so. Real big bad is an emo bird girl? For real? Fake death. And WAY to much really bad filler fatch quests. On top of all the time being told how you as the hero need to start helping as well. Apparently you saving the world was not helping.
If you ask me I think this was planned as the final expansion for FF14. At some point (5.4/5) they change the plan but it was to late to change this parts.

You may like a bad story . It's ok. Lots of people never read/watch a good one so to the this is great as well. 6.1-6.5 is good but way to rushed. Lots of great characters,some if the best to date in FF14 was a trial/dungeon boss.

Yeah, l heard it is terrible So l actually did the story to check it out myself. Not a bad story. I did enjoy it. It is just that it isn't so good to a degree that l would buy the game for it. Well, l guess this game's story writing might just not for me. I did heavensward with new game Plus and l got the same feeling.

You may like a bad story . It's ok. Lots of people never read/watch a good one so to the this is great as well. 6.1-6.5 is good but way to rushed. Lots of great characters,some if the best to date in FF14 was a trial/dungeon boss.

I'm not saying it's The Empire Strikes Back, don't get me wrong. But I've enjoyed it and I don't intend to apologize.

6.1 to 6.4 is just super boring

It's a filler arc. Unfortunately, it feels like a filler arc. And yes, there's a difference.

Good filler still feels like it's adding something to the story. As an example, in the anime of My Hero Academia, filler is used to build on events that were glossed over in the manga due to limited time or page count (mostly letting the rest of the class get some time in the limelight). It's not necessary, you could probably drop most of it and not miss a lot to the overall plot, but it still helps flesh out the world and the supporting cast.

Bad filler just feels empty. The Namek arc in Dragon Ball Z is the big cliche example; rather than actually doing anything while they were waiting for more manga to come out to adapt, they just kinda....futzed around and didn't do a lot. Sure, things happen, but nothing really important or all that interesting. There's a ton of what's basically glorified dead air while you're waiting for Goku to show up and start punching things.

Whether the Golbez arc goes anywhere in the future, we can't really say yet. But right now, it just feels.....disconnected. Like it was planned as a side story like the Warring Triad or the Four Lords or the Weapons, then they realized they didn't have enough to fill up the MSQ and padded it out to fill the spot. The Scions popping in and out just to say they showed up makes it feel even worse.

Its true and everybody is entiteld to their opinion but its besides the point of the argument and is an answer to something what was NOT asked or discussed.
As if i asked about a soccer match and youre answer is i like soccer.. yeah fine but my question ? I like it and i will not aopologize!!!!!
In a university you would get a zero aka a fail for this, at work you would get scolded or worse fired.

The story is weak and you can see last minute changes (they even admitted they changed the story very late on in the dev circle). Endwalker has the most text (lines) and voiced lines of all expacs but i liked HW or SB way more with less text or special mechanics (NPC follow...yuk). The same goes for SHB... heck even ARR is better in that regard, because we have character development and consequences which is missing from EW. The worldbuilding is way weaker and the preaching is unnecessary highlighted and we are not allowed to get to a conclusion ourself. We got told this is what you should think. A sign of bad writing or bad management or both.
