What's the point with that quite lackluster story in Endwalker?

I mean, it probably would have, at least as far as escaping the Source itself. They were ready to go at a moment's notice. And despite the complaints that some may have had about their food, "forest" and clothing they would have survived.

Maybe not so much the idea itself but the writing around it. The whole cutesy, unknowing aspect of things. Calling you children because they didn't know humans had shrunk. It was all so cheesy and annoying.

The only satisfaction I got out of it was hearing Y'shtola say The Forum were their "special conspirators." I was half expecting none of the scions to be the wiser. Preparing myself for more disappointment.

[Edit] I should also add there was a surprising lack of urgency. Countries are being reaped by the Blasphemy and the scions are just nonchalantly hanging out with some rabbits.
