I do love how some people are apparently so deranged by the existence of this thread that they feel the need to come in here and tell us that they definitely don't care about us and that we matter so very little, and that there are definitely very few of us. Not only do they keep the thread active and popping just to get dunked on, thus fulfilling its main purpose of visibility, but they also contribute to the general feeling of the dissenting minority being vilified and reinforce the toxically positive GCBTW perception that the FFXIV fanbase is infamous for. And they do it for free too? Nice.
Meanwhile, this thread keeps getting new participants in its "ever growing echo chamber", as a certain someone would put it. Every person that comes in here and says "oh finally, I thought I was alone/crazy, this read was so cathartic" is worth at least 10 of these valiant Endwalker Paladins (Source on my numbers: the same source as the exact numbers of Zodiark sacrifices). It sounds indeed like the outside is just as much of an echo chamber that alienates anyone who disagrees, but that doesn't seem to bother people who whine about us. Perhaps because they agree with it? It is, after all, one of the core tenets of Endwalker: rules for thee but not for me.
Anyway! Good to see Certifiably Good Taste might be slowly seeping in, even on /r/ffxiv:
This dude really came here and said "technicallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy :^)" when it is one of the most common complaints lmao. In fact... the OP opened with it. Even people who overall liked Endwalker can recognize that Zodiark got punked and the Moon barely even mattered compared to what they hyped up. It never was about Hydaelyn and Zodiark, it was about Hydaelyn and The Sound, and Zodiark a non-sentient plot device. It's totally fine to admit you don't care about it in the least; all understanding that people might be miffed about it requires is simply the tiniest shred of empathy.
Ackshually, I have literally never called the authors bad in my post. But then again this isn't the first time you make inexact arguments, for someone who was so pedantic literally a sentence earlier and loves to stick up for facts vs opinion.

I can't even find whatever poll he's using.

The poll is from here. It is worded as follows:
"I’m being really curious and want to know what everyone’s favourite expansion is"
Авейонд-сны

271 people who answered that poll are based.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
I was the 1. :P
I love ShB, but I can't ignore it started the precedent of the Scions at large traveling with us and perpetuated their immortality. It makes me wonder what kind of experience we could've had if they hadn't been teleported to the First.
HW has a diverse cast of characters with loss and consequences for the protagonists. (Remember when Aymeric was stabbed and you genuinely didn't know if he'd live?) I could go on but, honestly, that alone is enough to make it a stand out now.
Plus, EW retroactively ruined elements of ShB. HW doesn't suffer from that either.

Ooh, so what we learned is there's evidence out there that this unbelievably horrible expansion so many people absolutely hate and the devs must completely change their tune or else...is actually the 2nd most favorite expansion of the series, significantly moreso than even HW (which is also generally considered a top-notch xpac)?
Perhaps a few people in the echo chamber here might be shocked (again) when presented with evidence that their opinion is in fact far and away the minority, and a lot of people view EW as an awesome xpac? *Shrugs* Hey, I can hope, right?
I'm just imagining exploring a creepy abandoned mental asylum and hearing the scratching of a broken record player and the only sounds interrupting the eerie silence happen to be 'THE MAJORITY', 'YOUR A MINORITY' and 'ECHO CHAMBER'. All to a backdrop of the same words scribbled all over the bare grey walls.
I think people who can't in any way accept and understand different opinions and points of view are actually pretty unsettling and dangerous. It's as worrying as it is sad.

Until you use simple addition on the votes that went to all other expansions and realize that far more people did not vote for EW than for EW.Ooh, so what we learned is there's evidence out there that this unbelievably horrible expansion so many people absolutely hate and the devs must completely change their tune or else...is actually the 2nd most favorite expansion of the series, significantly moreso than even HW (which is also generally considered a top-notch xpac)?

Or are you not able to see that almost twice as many people voted for ShB alone?
...nevermind, I just realized who I am talking to.
While you were studying the blade, I was learning about better recycling methods from Elidibus.
