I became an omni-crafter, started to figure out how to enjoy fishing, got to work on my Fates, and started to become a hardcore decorator. There's a lot you can do in a que, and now I find instant pops almost annoying.

I fish. And gather.Ever since I've started playing exclusively healers and tanks (I'm a healer and tank kind of guy, I like healing and I like tanking even outside of MMOs) I've become drunk on the 30 second queue times.
Yet, when I decided it's time to start levelling RDM or BRD again, I was hit with a 17 minute queue and all my attention span went soaring out the window.
People who play DPS, how do you do it? How do you do the queue every time?
And I have dual monitors so there's always Reddit.
I like DPS queue because I have time to do something else while wait. And I haven't had what I consider to be a long queue (from a DPS perspective) in a long time.
For me, FFXIV is a game that works well with "downtime" and DPS queues is one way to have those short breaks outside of just literally being AFK.
That said, there is a reason why I have Warrior leveled. Being flexible with role (even just two out of three) really helps.
As everyone else has said, I do some of the large amounts of other stuff the game has that doesn't require queuing for it.
Also: Youtube, netflix, TV, mobile games.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

step 2) type /cwl1
step 3) "anybody for roulettes?"
step 4) repeat in other linkshells as necessary
step 5 ???
step 6) profit
Normally I run DPS with friends and tank/heal when I'm solo, or if my friends want to DPS.
When I'm waiting in a queue I do beast tribes, custom deliveries, mess around with glamours, etc.
I have Youtube, Netflicks, Hulu, and Disney+ on the side.
Eh, Alt+Tab is a thing. Save your sanity during long queue time or Castrum/Prae roulette.
I main GNB but I usually run a lot of my roulettes as dps. It helps things go faster and it lets me do something different every day. I could tank them just fine but if I have any issue at all in roulettes it is usually low dps. That's how I handle most Extreme trials as well. lol I have no issue with waiting a few extra minutes. Having played a dps from ARR to Shadowbringers (and since I play dps classes in WoW) I guess it doesn't really bother me.
You don’t queue. For sub 50 you have your NPCs, 50-60 you do PotD, 60-70 you do HoH, after that you go to southern front and grind fates.
