Duo leveling alt jobs?

Me and my wife started playing ffxiv again (but before we never made any real progress).

So far we have both be playing bard and up until now we mainly focused on the job and msq.

Yesterday we decided that we both wanted to try out something different. But we are having a hard time figuring out how we should level. I know there are a lot of guides online but non of them focus on how to level alt jobs together with someone else. We do not feel comfortable yet to play a healer or tank in dungeons. So we are sticking to the dps role, so dungeon queues take long and we are looking for ways how we can find the quests that we skipped or other things we can do to level while waiting for the dungeon queue.

Also if we sign up for heists (or something like that) we get stuck on the 2nd one. How do we unlock the others? Because when I google I see there are much more.

Ps. We are trying to level a job that starts at lvl30 so we do not have a hunting log.

Guildhests should unlock in sequence as you complete each one. There aren't any additional requirements like quests. Have you completed the second one and not gained access to the third?

For levelling together, you can try Palace of the Dead. Parties don't have role requirements so it's easier to find a match, or you can go in just as a duo if you're not finding a full party easily.

Yes, we successfully runned the second one twice now. Maybe we are doing something wrong? But it was dps some sort of knight for like one minute and then it said duty completed.

That should be all you need to do. The third one should be available on your list now.

If it isn't, maybe you've encountered some kind of bug.

Are you talking to the levemete at the end or just exiting the duty? If you're not talking to them, that might break things.

I’ll check again tonight and see what is exactly happening. We have been talking to the npc at the end, with the green icon above him.

It sounds like OP is queuing Duty Roulette: Guildhests and only getting the Lv10 ones. This is normal, as a lot of people sign up specifically for the second one to abuse its quickness for achievements, so it pops up a lot. If you want to do the others to unlock more roulette options, you should queue for them one manually one at a time. The tab for them is light blue with a paper or scroll. Remember to uncheck the previous one (or press Clear Selection) before queueing for the next. There are two guildhests every five levels through Lv40.

Honestly, for duo / co-op leveling, the best is really to have one leveling up a DPS while the other does a Tank / Healer for faster queues and then switch for the next round.

FATEs: Do at least 10 a week for the challenge log.
Roulettes/dungeons: a few challenge log entries per week. 3 roulette dungeons, 5 total dungeons, 5 player commendations (I think that's the numbers).
If you make it into the 40s, you've got ARR beast tribes, tho the exp totals aren't quite as tasty as later expansions.
Guildhests: Not totally worth spending a lot of time on, even the challenge log bonuses are a bit meh. 3 is fairly easy, 10 can be a bit tedious. But, most jobs available at those low levels do at least get a first-time completion bonus from them which isn't too shabby. Worth at least clearing each one once, once you figure out what's up with your progression.
Palace of the Dead: Supposed to be one of the better means of leveling at low levels.
GC Hunt bills: Actually not 100% sure ARR bills actually give exp....

That might be just about the extent of what's available up through 50 when Alliance roulette can be a helpful boost (if you're not sick of Crystal Tower), HW beast tribes, Centurio hunts, maybe Wonderous Tales (think that might be a later unlock..)..

Oh. Total Duh. Levequests. ARR and HW have battle levequests, which... also kinda sorta suck, but, it's something.

There is one additional option, if you don't mind splitting up for solo runs, and if you've leveled your Grand Company rank, you can insta-queue into some specific dungeons with your GC squadron.

I guess technically you could probably also do treasure hunts, if you've got gatherers leveled to collect maps. The lowest level map is meant for level 40, but two could probably take them on. But, the exp is probably pretty pitiful for something you can only collect once every 18 hours, and can't say they'd ever be worth buying off the marketboard for that return. But, it's there for variety?
