I am 39, exactly who do you think you're speaking for? No only '30's' here seems to be backing what you're spitting out.Well lets be honest here, the majority of Final Fantasy fans (speaking about fans of the original games) are about my age (33) so from where I'm sitting, Reaper does look like a power fantasy to recapture lost youth. I would just prefer less edgy classes, even Sage feels that way with the whole "Floating Knife Lasers" thing. Its a little cringe worthy in my opinion.
I just think the FFXIV needs more light-hearted new content as all this Endwalker stuff has been edgy, depressing and a bit "crawling in my skin", if you get the reference. Sometimes this game seems too "anime" for its own good. The best content for me personally, story wise was the contextualised inter-state politics, it felt more mature rather then lapsing back into this "Shadow the Hedgehog", end of the world rubbish.
Page 3 and still no specifics about what you'd like to see in dungeons beyond not understanding the story and how you hate rock music.
I really have to ask: have you actually been playing since June 2014? Per your forum join date, it insinuates as such—but you are extremely out of touch with this game if you truly believe the hardcore crowd gets to dictate anything in this game.Well because I've personally never understood why people gatekeep things so hard, its a harsh thing to say but the vast majority of people in this game play it casually, with only a tiny percentage being "hardcore" and yet its the hardcore that get to be elitist and decide what kind of content Square will make next.

Weak trolls like this almost make me miss Titan Men.
I love dungeons, despite how basic they are they are some of my favourite content when a new patch drops cause its like a new theme park ride.
I do think they could use some more variety, especially for healers. Heck just gimme some raisable NPC mooks or something in a dungeon that help marginally with dps on a boss or something! The esuna-able doom on the Dead Ends boss was sort of a great.
Something I LOVED in the design for Ala Mhigo, Swallows Compass and in Puppets Bunker, was trash fights down long straights where you'd have big aoes coming at you, really turned the trash segments into actual fun. Not something I'd want in every dungeon, but I'd love to see more of it.
And while Steps of Faith has too big a reliance on interactable objects, and is very strange for a trial, I'd love to see something creative like that done again as a dungeon someday. Where a singular titanic beast takes the focus of every stage of the dungeon while you move across the enviroment and fight its trash.

Fans of the ORIGINAL FF games would be around 40+ now. People who were old enough to comprehend strategy and not just flashy colors and had the patience to grind levels instead of pushing forward when the game came out for the NES (or famicom). Gen X. So not really. Fans of the middling releases would be around 30, so the hordes of 7-8-9 fans, which admittedly were some of the "best" entries in the franchise for being spectacular and having engaging characters.
we got 2 whole new classes you think are "edgy" for .. "reasons". What's wrong with the other 17? They didn't go away or get super "edgy".

FFXIV , the JRPGMMO is "too anime".
Yo... I.. got news for you.
Also.. your forum linked character hasn't touched endwalker, let alone the game since september. Is ALL of this conjecture from what you've read or have you actually played the expansion?
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
Can definitely agree to that statement especially in msq.
EQ, EQ2, Darkfall, hardcore MMORPG player. After 15 year break returning as a casual player taking it slow this time.
Still waiting for another boss like the 2nd boss from Bardam's Mettle.
Democracy sucks. Im glad they dont listen to everybody. Theres always more stupid people than intelligent. What they have been doing so far has been working great. The game is thriving. More power to them!Well because I've personally never understood why people gatekeep things so hard, its a harsh thing to say but the vast majority of people in this game play it casually, with only a tiny percentage being "hardcore" and yet its the hardcore that get to be elitist and decide what kind of content Square will make next. I personally have never thought that is fair, about any game actually. I have never seen any game be truly democratic in how they make content, they just ask whoever the most popular youtuber is at the time and let them speak for everyone in the community. Why anyone would watch somebody play a game they could play and experience themselves is beyond me.
You really cannot get mad when people laugh at you for taking it so seriously
Also, the type of rock used for a lot of the games soundtrack has a distinctly 2000's feel to it, since Stormblood actually. Some of it, like Footfalls comes across as Greenday made it. That's what I mean by that last comment.
