    Viera ear choice

I'm finally on the verge of making one of my alts into a male Viera, but I'm stuck on ear choice. I've heard people mention that some ear styles have better animation or physics than others. Which model is this, and does it look better or worse than the more static models?

From messing around with test alts before I made my lot, imo option 1 (super straight spikey hair) and 4 (backwards leaning long hair) are most bouncy in motion while option 3 (the lone shorthaired set) move slightly less. Floppy ears are in the middle but their physics are a bit less noticeable in general due to their shape.

Ymmv with which work out "best". If you use gshade I'd recommend rolling an alt and see them in motion/test out your go-to shaders. For me, option 1 is adorable but they don't play nicely with my usual settings so I went with 4 on my main and floppies on my alt :3

Thanks! I am trying to decide between 1 and 3.

I tried the animations in the character creator but can't see much movement on them either way.

(Ironically, given that it's their defining feature, I really don't like Viera ears very much. I think they might have looked better if they were positioned like Miqo'te.)

I haven't seen anyone mention anything about male Viera having much better ear physics than females so assuming they're roughly the same then the difference is incredibly minor and you'll only notice under very specific circumstances like slight bending while flying on a mount or during strong winds, and the slightest bounce when you run or do something like mining, but even then you have to turn your camera sideways and/or zoom in to get a good look.

The "clean" ears with little to no fluff in the picture on the right look closest to the ones where it shows up most for female Viera, but it might be less noticeable because they're already angled backwards slightly vs. female Viera ears going straight up.

I'd just pick the ones you like the look of best because even on the "best" ones it's barely there.

EDIT: Kind of unrelated but if you care about earring glamour at all I'd also consider trying a few earrings on with whatever ears you choose, depending on the position of the earring the fluff and folds of some ears can obscure the earrings.
