Can we get more Jumping Puzzles please ?

I first fell in love with Jumping Puzzles in GW2 where i spent countless hours on completing them.

That's why i was really excited when i first encountered the Jumping Puzzle in Kugane or the event jumping puzzles.
I just wish there would be much more of them in FF14.
The world itself has enough space for more such puzzles and the costs to implement them is are rather low compared to other content.

I'm sure many other players would also love to see more Jumping Puzzles !

Do the one in Ratz-at-Han if you haven't yet. It's a really fun one with multiple directions you can take. It leads to a beautiful roof garden. c:

Please no, I absolutely hate jumping puzzles.

A lot of aether currents in SB involved jumping puzzles and it was torture. After that they started making currents easier and easier to get, so they did move away from that.

there's a jumping tower in Shirogane too btw, the lighthouse or something.

If you hate them - then just don't do them.

There were no aether currents in SB which required jumping puzzles, this is simply untrue - for one because these puzzles are always in zones which don't allow flight to begin with, as it would defeat the entire point of the puzzle.
You are mistaking aether currents with vistas, which are 100% optional. They don't even lock you out of the painting rewards, as those are tradeable on MB.

uh, hard to fly when you don't have the currents, don't you think? Also if you're telling me all the jumps required to get to some, like the infamous one in The Lochs, weren't jumping puzzles, idk what you're on. Not all jumping puzzles are of the magniture of Kugane Tower one, you know? Something that needs a series of calculated and precise jumps to reach IS a jumping puzzles.

And sure, if you hate them don't do them, easy to say. In that case, they would have to make them not tied to absolutely any current or vista. And then people would complain they went crazy to do some awful jump puzzle and got nothing out of it (except for those very few who actually enjoy them).

    1) Two-sitter mounts exist, people use them to speed-up unlocking aether currents all the time.

    2) Can't be all that "infamous" because I have literally no clue what you are talking about. Sounds like you've just got some personal hangup about it and just assumed everyone else must've felt the same. Even if there was something that required a couple jumps, that's hardly some big deal. There's always bound to be a couple quests or whatever in the MSQ you dislike and you have to do them all the same. As long as it's not actually taking a lot of your time you're just being dramatic.

    3) Why can't vistas be tied to them? The entire point of vistas is that they're in some odd spots, often somewhat difficult to reach. You don't need vistas for anything other than getting the vistas, even the paintings which they unlock you can just buy from somebody else. It's like saying you don't like that you need to clear savage to get the savage clearing achievement. It's just hella entitled.
And why would people complain about them if they truly didn't even give anything at all, not even vistas? Is it you? Are you just projecting because you would be somehow bothered by it?

Can we get some better physics for them first? Having to figure out which platforms let you stand two feet off the edge, which ones require pixel-perfect landings, which overhangs you can jump through vs which ones will push you away, and whatever other odd quirks are in the way, isn't much fun to me.

All of this. It's not much of a puzzle if you never know when the engine is going to function correctly and when it arbitrarily won't.

I can't do a jump puzzle to save my life, but they make a lot of people happy and I can tell it's very fun for them even if they fall a bunch of times since once they finally get to the top, they feel a bit proud and even take little victory screenshots. I think it's very cute. Cute, harmless, wholesome fun. So even more of them would be great. Bigger challenges too, for those who are quite skilled at it.

I know, I know.. 'waah but I cant do it noww mememe since i cant do it they need to stop it!!' Awful mindset to have. Let others enjoy things.
'well if they just fixed the game-!!' and if I could just be 1 foot taller everything would change for me too, I get it. Let others enjoy things anyway.

While I love jumping puzzles, especially from GW2, the jumping engine/bounding boxes in FFXIV are not built for them. They need to severely overhaul how jumping even works. You can see what I mean in Kugane, or especially after clearing the 2.0 sightseeing log.

So, while I agree, I also caution to keep in mind what this would mean and what would be needed to make actual enjoyable content. As is, the jumping engine (and to an extent their racing engine) are just not well designed.

It's like trying to host a Lan Party at your house using janky wi-fi. It's not that the game itself is bad, it's that the hardware to support play needs work to make it enjoyable/playable.
